Fantastic local eatery, I definitely want to come back for a full savoury outing or a scone. Sadly I found the cake a touch too sweet for my tastes, but they look the part and a slice shares nicely amongst the family. My favourite was the blondie with blueberry.
Fab! Great value for money, mega portion of cake for the price, later had to order another cappuccino and slice of raspberry coconut cake. The vanilla latte with soya milk was great, perhaps needed slightly more vanilla but was otherwise perfect. Also got the cream tea with the jam and cream scone. Jam was slightly runny and cream slightly too clotted, but my mum still enjoyed it. Will definitely come again!!!
Fantastic "indulgent" little eatery two roads back from shore road in Swanage right of the town center. From Shore road take one of the tiny lanes almost opposite the ice cream kiosk facing the sea and make your way through narrow "curiosity lanes" to this fabulous tea/lunch cafe. It has the most fantastic selection of freshly homemade cakes...Bliss !..We ordered a Welsh rarebit to eat as a late lunch, lip-smackingly good !! Then we bought cake "to go" and some very yummy chocolate dipped stem ginger biscuits. This is a "Gem" of a place. Not to be missed if visiting Swanage!
I was looking forward to having a GF cream tea but unfortunately they didn't have any. What they did have was a very yummy looking GF Chocolate roulade. As I don't like cake too chocolateyI know it's strange! I opted for a banana split which was lovely. The family had the Victoria sponge cake and Carrot cake, both looked delicious and I'm told they were very tasty, moist light and this was evidenced by the clean plates! The other food coming out to looked fabulous. Mochas were good and sevice good. The café is done out very nice, clean plenty of seats,clean toilets. I would definitely return and recommend.
Very good food - perfect place for an afternoon lunch or an evening tea. Good vegetarian choices for food and hearty meals. Their specials are worth a try. We tried their falafel soul food and a toastie on sourdough. Tasty food and good portions. Both had plenty of salad with a light dressing on each. Accessible and central location - close to the high street. Staff is very friendly. The place gets busy during lunch times - try to get a reservation if possible in advance. Plenty of seating available. Outdoor seating recommended on a nice weather day. Parking is not available on site, need to use street parking. But can easily park near high street and walk to this place.
Stopped in for a quick bite, now it’ll be a mandatory stop every time we visit Swanage. They had plenty of vegan options the vegan Victoria sponge was fantastic, highly recommended! which is always nice to see. The servings were very generous and the staff were delightful!
Great vegan options! Stopped for lunch at this quaint café in the middle of the main street and ordered soup of the day and avocado toast, simple and yum - great attention to details. Amazing selection of cakes and organic groceries as well. Lovely service. Middle range prices.
Fabulous food with a broad menu and great specials board. Staff were friendly. We went during the summer and it was busy so worth ringing ahead to book a table. Dropped a star as tables and chairs were sticky and needed a thorough clean which detracted from the experience. Edit: returned in 2022 and the menu and staff are just as food as always. Upped my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars as the tables were lovely and clean as we have come to expect. AND the cake-away is highly recommended.
Been here many times and think the food is fantastic. The choice of freshly made cakes is huge, they all look and taste! amazing. If you come to Swanage, you HAVE to come here. Staff are friendly and excellent, dog friendly.
Honestly the best scones I’ve eaten anywhere…ever! I’m still dreaming about them. I love cream teas but I’m often left disappointed by heavy, claggy scones and bog-standard jam. Love Cake’s scones are baked on the premises, and they’re obviously baked ‘with love’ by Christine. They’re light, fluffy and go perfectly with their raspberry jam that tastes homemade. Can’t wait to go back for seconds.
