Great venue, over 3 floors. Really nice terrace bar at the top and 2 floors of dining. The food and drinks were excellent. The turbot was amazing and the sauce that accompanied it was superb. Very good portions as well. Be prepared it is on the expensive side. But worth it for setting, food and service
I’m honestly so surprised to see this many bad reviews… but I had a wonderful experience. The manager was really nice, greeted us when we got seated. Our server was really nice as well. The food was amazing! I moved to london last October but I’ve been to so many popular restaurants in the city, Louie has the best food so far among the ones I tried. I’ll def come back! I don’t drink alcohol but the mock-tail I got was wonderful. Our server offered really great suggestions. I’ll encourage you to try this restaurant yourself :
Impeccable. It's hard to find a fine dining establishment that leaves you thinking, yes that was worth the price. I can't fault a single one of the dishes, but if I was pushed to choose I think crab cakes edge the octopus for starters and as well prepared as the lamb was the lobster was sensational. I'm sceptical when lobster is served out of the shell I enjoy the feeling that I earned that tasty claw meat when I finally crack it open lol but the BBQ lobster here was just wow. If you only order one dish, I'd go for this. The chocolate dessert was a delightful end to the meal. Wasn't too sweet and surprisingly less rich than it looked. Worth noting that Louie is far more New Orleans influenced than purely French as Google seems to state and it was nice getting to talk to Slade around the inspiration for the menu. All the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. If you do have time, worth visiting the bar upstairs, Le Bar. Beautiful space with even better cocktails, Renaud definitely knows how to make a drink. Overall, yes this place is expensive but you actually get what you pay for, unlike many overpriced restaurants in London. Next time someone asks me for a recommendation for a "nice" restaurant I'm going with Louie.
First time in this trendy restaurant. Always a risk in London where you pay a lot for something at best mediocre. This one is one exception as the food from ‘New Orleans’ is excellent I will recommend crab cake, seafood combo and the fondant - cf pictures. Even better is the service which start from the team at the door welcoming, the lady who placed us in the restaurant followed by the barman and finally the server Delroy. The best combination in my view: excellent food, cocktails and first class service.
Aedra ? makes a great old fashioned upstairs and Guido was very helpful choosing the right dishes. The gumbo & pecan tart were amazing! A New Orleans inspired menu set in a beautiful decor & ambience!Recommended dishesGumbo
Wow what an experience. First off let me say that the passion fruit mojito I tried was one of the best I have ever had. The space has a great atmosphere and vibe. But one thing that is above the rest is the staff. They have an incredible flow and are very attentive. I must of course give a shout out to Kate Britten
The food flavors at Louie were bold in nature as you would expect from a restaurant serving Creole cuisine! However the cost vs quality was prohibitive for 2 starters, a salad, 2 mains and 1 drink.. What cost Louie more points were a few incidents of disoriented/clumsy staff - they kept my company waiting outside telling them I have not arrived yet despite me having a drink inside. The Negroni from the bar was pre-made and served out of a bottle perhaps a minor issue but the drink cost £15. An incident with broken glasses at the bar resulted in shards everywhere yet my drink was not replaced - I had to ask several times.. The questionable service charge was not removed at the end but I felt sorry for our lovely waiter so decided to include it. We were expecting some live music due to an event from 8pm onwards yet we only heard 2 songs between 8-10pm.. Perhaps not a great day for Louie which is very attractive on Social Media but a different story on real life! Will give it another chance at some point.
Lovely lunch. The lobster roll was a bit disappointing, the brioche bun was not soft and crunchy enough and the chips were quite salty. Scallop carpaccio was alright, loved the sauce as it gives out a Thai fragrance. Beef tartare was also good!
Have always had an amazing experience at Louie! The food and service is excellent. We had wonderful Oysters and Scallop Carpaccio as starters with a delicious Rockefeller Martini. Highly recommend the Monkfish and Turbot. They also have great vegetarian options! Ended the night with a Bread Pudding. You can also enjoy some great cocktails in their third floor terrace. This is definitely a must if you are in London! Vegetarian options: Corn and Mushroom Risotto
We had a great experience for little birthday celebration. The food was delicious and beautifully served. The staff was super professional, and the atmosphere was very relaxing.Food: 5/5
