Story

London Vision Clinic is a London based Laser Eye Surgery Clinic dedicated to providing the best quality treatments using pioneering technology, techniques, highly trained surgeons and the best customer care service in the industry. The clinic was founded by Professor Reinstein who has dedicated his career solely to Laser Eye Surgery (few ophthalmologists do this). In the process he has been instrumental in improving the technology used – in fact he holds several patents in the field.

Treatments available include LASIK, PRK/LASEK and ReLEx SMILE – a treatment developed in conjunction with Carl Zeiss, which we were the first in the UK to offer our patients.

London Vision Clinic focuses on quality throughout the process (assessments, tests, technology, aftercare, surgeons, customer service), so we can’t offer discounts - but then, do you really want discount eye surgery?

I had my laser eye surgery in August 2024, and it’s the best decision I ever made. I am very glad I decided to go with London Vision Clinic as it was important to me to go to a Clinic that had the latest technology and great aftercare. Before the surgery I had a number of appointments where they went through the healing process which I am so glad they did because often you can get lied to on social media. I am glad that this surgery was a success - I love my new vision!
My experience with London Vision Clinic has been absolutely fantastic. Prior to SMILE surgery, I had been wearing contact lenses for almost two decades, which resulted in dry eyes and often led to me waking up at night just to use eye drops. Initially, I had quite a lot of anxiety about the procedure itself; however, from the very first consultation, I knew I was in good hands. There were multiple thorough tests before the procedure, and the staff were very transparent about each step and the risks involved. The procedure itself was completely painless and quick. My surgeon, Dan, explained everything in a calm voice as it was happening, and it was over before I knew it. My recovery after the procedure was very quick, and I could already see the 20/20 line and slightly below the following day. I haven't experienced significant fluctuations in my vision since, apart from slightly lower visibility at night. Despite my procedure being completely routine, I developed shingles near my left eye a few weeks afterward. Even though it was unrelated to my surgery, I reached out to the clinic on a Saturday seeking advice on whether I needed to take any precautions. The person on call immediately put me in touch with Dan who was fantastic in ensuring I took all the necessary precautionary steps to prevent any potential impact on my eye. I feel that the team at London Vision Clinic went above and beyond at every step, and I can only wish I had done this sooner.
I recently had laser eye surgery, and I’m really happy with the results. The procedure was quick and painless. After a smooth recovery, I no longer need glasses or contacts. The staff was excellent throughout. Special thanks to Nabila for her care and professionalism – she made the whole experience much easier! Overall, I’m very satisfied and glad I did it.
I had Presbyond laser blended surgery at LVC in June 2024. I've written a long review because when I was researching my options, I couldn’t find any detailed first-person accounts of adapting to blended vision, presumably as it's a new-ish procedure. I'm told I'm a typical case so hopefully someone will find this helpful. The short version is: ⁃ The adaptation period was hard but after 4 months it’s much better and I’m glad I did it. My vision is not perfect and likely never will be, but for me the trade-off is worth it to be free of glasses. ⁃ The clinic is brilliant and if you do decide that surgery is for you, I would 100% recommend LVC. I am 45 and have been shortsighted for my whole adult life -6. I initially approached LVC to ask about full distance surgery, but at the initial consultation I was advised to go for blended vision in order to delay the need for reading glasses. I was told that because blended vision corrects the eyes to different distances, the brain can be confused at first and there would likely be an adaptation period of weeks/months. I wouldn’t get the ‘wow’ moment immediately after surgery that many reviews mention, and my sight would not be as good as it was with glasses. This advice turned out to be spot-on. The surgery itself was quick and painless, much less nerve wracking than I expected. These guys have done a zillion eyes before yours and they are brilliant at what they do, so reassuring, calm and competent. The first week after surgery was rough. Physically my eyes healed well and I was cleared for driving the next day. However my eyes seemed to be competing for dominance and I could see a blurry version on top of a sharp version of everything. I got headaches and nausea when looking at a screen, even with the text size increased and brightness down. Distance vision was the same and I struggled to see road names etc. By week 4, I could see distance and close up clearly in daylight. This has been brilliant as I do a lot of sport and not having to wear glasses/lenses felt so freeing. Screen work was also better, although I still had some blurring and ghosting. The hardest thing was and still is seeing fine detail in low light/contrast conditions. This includes most places indoors as well as evenings/mornings outdoors. General walking around, cooking etc is fine but I struggle with things like: - looking for a specific key in a drawer of keys - scanning the room for my phone - making out someone’s facial expression across the room - cleaning/tidying - Supermarkets looking for the specific jar I want among all the jars is tricky. Driving at night felt unsafe so the clinic gave me some glasses: this wasn’t possible before 4 weeks as your prescription changes day-to-day post surgery. 4 months later, being outdoors or working on a screen are great - I rarely think about my vision in those conditions. Everything above about low light conditions still stands. I’m told this is normal with blended vision due to the reduced depth of field resulting from the different prescriptions in each eye and probably won’t improve much, if at all. However as time has gone on, my expectations and my behaviour have naturally shifted, so it doesn’t bother me so much anymore. I wear glasses for specific tasks where clarity is important, and probably always will. I’ve been told I’ll likely find it harder in the winter months. Interestingly, my vision was close to 20-20 on the chart at my latest check up in September but I expect that’s because the chart is lit up and the letters are black on white. Lighting and contrast are everything! My advice to friends who have asked about blended vision is only have surgery if you are prepared for a trade-off. BUT if you do decide to go ahead, do it at LVC. The whole process has been so slick, and everyone I met has been competent, efficient, thorough, friendly, reassuring and responsive. The after care always the real test of a clinic was brilliant. When I was struggling and called the clinic, I was always able to see or speak to someone very quickly.
A Truly Life-Changing Experience! I had SMILE surgery at London Vision Clinic just 4 days ago, and I can already tell it’s going to change my life forever. If you’re looking for a place that prioritizes safety and expertise, this is it. From the very first phone call to the consultation, surgery, and aftercare, the team made sure I felt informed and comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Glenn Carp, my surgeon, was incredibly reassuring. At my consultation and on surgery day, he made me feel safe and calm, even though I was nervous let’s be honest, the idea of eye surgery while you’re awake can be a bit daunting!. But let me tell you—it's absolutely worth pushing through that fear! The surgery itself was painless, just a bit of gentle pressure, and before I knew it, it was over—quicker than getting your morning coffee at Pret! What really blew me away was the recovery. I expected it to be tough, but there was zero pain the rest of the day. And the next morning, I could already see so clearly. I remember driving to my Day-1 checkup, amazed at how vivid and beautiful every detail around me was. By the weekend, I was out enjoying life—dining out, going to IKEA, taking long walks, and even attending a yoga class—all with great vision! I can’t recommend London Vision Clinic enough. The results have already been life-changing, and I’m so grateful to the entire team for making this journey such a positive one. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate—this experience is absolutely worth it!
I cannot understate how my cataract surgery at London Vision Clinic has changed my daily life. No glasses means no sore nose and ears from glasses rubbing and great sight! Mr Darshak Patel is my hero. He juggled my high prescription, squint and "small eye" deficiencies to calculate my new lenses perfectly. I am so happy.
I have been wearing glasses for many many years and decided it was time that I should try laser eye surgery. The clinic was recommended by a friend who has been there. The procedure was clearly explained to me what I would have to have done how ilong the surgery will take after having eye tests to establish my eye conditions. Everything was explained about the procedure and how it would be upon meeting the professor. He explained to me everything as well. I was very apprehensive having eye surgery but everyone was so friendly. And reassuring comforting the procedure does not take that long. There is a small recovery time and upon opening my eyes I could not believe the difference. No more glasses. It has now been three months and my vision is still truly unbelievable not having to wear glasses anymore the staff are amazing. The professor is an amazing person and I cannot thank them enough.
I have had a fantastic experience with London Vision Clinic . All the team were extremely professional and showed great customer care . The follow up care was second to none . I would recommend LVC who are particularly good at dealing with nervous patients and take the time to answer all questions thoroughly . Nothing is too much trouble for the team . Glenn, my surgeon has taken a keen interest in my post operative recovery which has also been appreciated
I was fortunate enough to have my eyes lasered at the clinic. From the lovely receptionist to the full team I was treated kindly at every step. The procedure was smooth, the following support was what blew my socks off. Never alone in the process with any and all issues tended to by the team. Special shoutout to the receptionist called Zo who was incredibly kind following the operation. Could not recommend enough for those who have been considering treating their eyes.
Having this surgery has changed my life. I was recommended LVC by a friend who had corrective surgery 5 years ago here and so I sent a message enquiring about the surgery. I am so pleased I did. Every step of the way, everyone at LVC was kind, considerate and supportive. I am now just over 3 months post surgery and my eyesight is better than it was when I wore glasses! The aftercare has been outstanding. I absolutely recommend going to LVC.
