It is cool for this Pagoda standing in the park and next to the river Thames, but you can also see it is not being well protected, some graffiti is on it.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
I visited here to see the structure. The whole surroundings are beautiful, peaceful, and tranguil. On route to the Pagoda, there is a fountain that I admired due to its structure. A lot of thought went into this place, and it's worthwhile visiting. Battersea Park also has an old English garden... This really took me back in time when my parents used to take us here as children
The London Peace Pagoda, located in the serene setting of Battersea Park, stands as a symbol of hope and tranquility amidst the bustling city. This striking example of Japanese Buddhist architecture was gifted to London by the Nipponzan-Myōhōji order in 1984, as part of a worldwide mission to promote peace and harmony across all cultures and religions. Reverend Gyoro Nagase, who has been a guardian of the pagoda since its construction, continues to maintain its presence as a spiritual haven for Londoners and visitors alike. The pagoda is adorned with four gilt-bronze statues representing significant events in the life of Buddha, from birth to enlightenment, teaching, and death. With its panoramic views across the Thames, the Peace Pagoda offers a place of reflection and respite, inviting all who visit to experience a moment of peace in the heart of London
The stunning London Peace Pagoda, erected in 1985 as a part of a global series of Buddhist pagoda monuments promoting World Peace, is gracing the South Bank of the river Thames, located within the grounds of the splendid Battersea Park. Ever since it's placement, this remarkable structure combining an impeccable art, architecture and faith, has been a place of reflection, tranquility and quiet, almost poetic appreciation of glorious sunrises, sunsets, and spirituality in every season. One of the most incredibly beautiful sights of London, the Battersea Peace Pagoda is a definite must see!
If your looking of somewhere peaceful and tranquil then I’d throughly recommend the London Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park. The London Peace Pagoda built in 1985 dedicated to peace, containing statues representing the 4 different phases of the Buddha's life. Also featured in a few movies including ‘Magic Mike - The Last Dance’. Although it’s free to visit, keep in mind that access is from 6:30am till 10:30pm.
A tranquil place within Battersea park next to the river. An impressive pagoda emersed in greenery, offering views of the river and Prince Albert Bridge. Lots of seating benches, on a clean paved walk, to rest. Worth a visit if in the area. From here you can walk to Chelsey or to Battersea power station area. Excellent spot to visit on a day out.
What a nice park. The budha is amazing and well worth a visit. Its right on the river and in a great spot for walking and exploring. There are many signs of people etching there names on it which is disappointing.
Lovely place in Battersea park. There are cafes nearby. Battersea park is perfect for a picnic in the Sun. There's plenty of parking. Little Waitrose opposite the entrance usually has enough for picnic food.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This is from the Buddhist movement in Japan that is building, donating and erecting these peace pagodas worldwide. You clime some steps to see four 4 golden statues one on each side each from a phase of the Buddha's life. Great views of Battersea Park and the Thames River.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Visited this a sunny and warm day. It was interesting to see such a building in the middle of city, all the park is very active, lots of people cycling, running, playing, great place for family and sunny afternoon in the city, far away from noise. Pagoda stands beautiful and looks very exotic just by the river, very recommended place! Peaceful! 25min walk from Victoria station!
