What a brilliant day! Kimberley was an excellent teacher and i thoroughly enjoyed the beginners silver 1. Really week equipped and spacious - highly recommend.
My partner and I went to the London Jewellery School to make our wedding rings and had an amazing day. Sophie was an excellent teacher, very patient, very easy to get along with and really helpful! The rings are so lovely and personal to us, we are loving wearing them having now got married!. Really recommend doing something similar if you are looking to get wedding rings.
We have had nothing but brilliant support from both London Jewellery School and Jewellers Academy. Founder Jessica is a joy to speak to and has a wealth of knowledge and experience which really shows in the courses and online resources she provides alongside her talented team. If you’re thinking about giving jewellery making a go, this is a brilliant place to start to build your skills and confidence.
I just attended the 1 day jewellery design course and sad to say I was pretty disappointed with it. The teacher was very unengaging and procrastinated ALOT.... I felt it could've been taught in 2hrs rather than 7! And to back that up 2 attendees that were there for a fun birthday treat didn't even return after lunch.... that speaks volumes to me! I've attended the London Jewellery school before and had a great experience but this was very disappointing and I felt like I really didn't learn any new skills at all.
Wonderful experience! I don't have any background in jewellery and took the Beginner's Silver Jewellery and Beginner's Metal Clay classes and found the tutors patient, friendly, and full of helpful tips and advice! Having individual work benches and tools also really helps, as you can work at your own pace. Would definitely recommend!
Such a great experience at the London jewellery school! I did the beginners silver course with Anelia and it was so informative with a lovely friendly vibe. Well worth the cost and I’m already looking at booking the next course!
I enrolled on the silver jewellery diploma last year 2018 and had a wonderful experience. The tutors are so encouraging and supportive plus the premises are well set out with everything you need. Because of this I finished my Diploma with a distinction. The course exceeded my expectations in every way.
I recently had a day of one to one tuition with Stelios. It was a great day where I learnt lots and it was perfectly suited to my level. It has given me confidence to progress in my jewellery making and I will definitely be taking another course later in the year. I found it to be a really friendly, encouraging and professional environment. Thank you LJS.
I have been coming to the London Jewellery School since 2012 and have attended a number of courses from silversmithing to resin jewellery, all of which have been brilliant. The Tutors are great, Emily is amazing and the biscuits are to die for. From each course I have learnt something new that I can utilise in real life. I highly recommend this school and it's courses.
I completed the 7-week Intensive Diploma in Jewellery Making this summer. My background is in sculpture so I was looking for a course to give me an overview of the different techniques used in the jewellery business, alongside improving my skills to a high level in fine jewellery techniques. Sadly I do not feel I have learnt much of what I was hoping to on this course. Little attention was given to teaching traditional jewellery techniques - on the last day, 'Advanced Silver', we were left to our own devices rather than taught, and I guarantee the silversmithing skills I now have would never be considered 'Advanced' by another jeweller or school. Far too much time was given to non-fine jewellery techniques such as polymer clay, metal clay, resin and beading. As someone who would like to become a fine jeweller these are materials I am interested in trying out, but to dedicate so much time 10 days or more to working with them is absolutely not what I expected when I signed up to the course. At £4000 this course has a lot to live up to, and to be paying about £100 a day to work with an awful selection of pink beads is honestly, I feel, a joke. The saving grace for me was a few of the teachers, who were very highly skilled and good at teaching! Gill, who taught us Stone Setting in Silver, was fantastic and passionate. Zoe, who taught us Technical Drawing, gave very comprehensive and clear explanations, and gave further very helpful advice about interacting with clients and goldsmiths. Natasha, who taught Perspex, was incredibly knowledgeable about self promotion, advertising and social media. Sunita, receptionist/organiser extraordinaire was fantastic and certainly made my experience here more bearable. Although all of the teachers were knowledgeable in their field I do not feel the level that we have been taught to represents the standard advertised on the website. This is no reflection of their teaching ability, but, I feel, because of how the teaching and marking scheme is written and structured. My work was marked by a tutor whose skill set, with at least one of the materials, was equal to mine. Objectively, how can this piece be accurately marked if that is the case? I am happy that I did something productive with my summer, but in hindsight there are other courses where I could have been far, far more productive.
