Literally the worst, most third world, banana republic council in the country. I would actually move house not to have to deal with these people again. It would be easier to get hold of God himself than to get through to them on the telephone...which would be fine if their online service portal wasn't such a joke. I've dealt with many councils in my time and what Newham get away with is literally jaw dropping. If you have a choice, DO NOT BUY A HOUSE IN NEWHAM!

You HAD been WARNED the worst of the worst rather live in a bomb shelter in Syria than this council. Cannot get a admission for my child it’s a loop for department to department. I will have to make a official complain now. SEN team to Pupil service back and forth. SEN team is mostly out of office so cannot reach them. I have names I won’t publically shame them just make a complain this time.

Car broke down, so had to park in disabled parking. Arranged for recovery for the next morning only to find that my car was removed and taken to the newham vehicle pound. No help provided from the council. They only demanded that I pay £265 to retrieve my car and appeal, which could take up to 3 months! Poor customer service and satisfaction. The council could have done better given my car was unsafe to drive

Really appalled with Newham. I don't mean to give them any stars. As a vulnerable adult, I was made to endure the low temperatures of -3 degrees on the coldest day of the year thus far, for over 24hrs as the pressure on my boiler had decreased spontaneously. Newham have no form of an emergency service available apparently. Explained I would need assistance urgently regarding the problem as I was physically shivering INDOORS and as I have a condition & furthermore would be in hospital the following day. Asked to speak to a deputy/manager but he leaves the office by midday. Obsurd. In addition only to find out that on their system it doesn't even reflect that I'm a tenant with a disability which is laughable as I only obtained this accommodation as priority on the following basis. Anyway just felt it necessary that their true colours are shown but I'll definitely be taking this further.
