We are an independent hotel and restaurant set in a beautiful grade II* listed Mill between Harlow and Bishops Stortford, just 15 minutes from the M11.

Story

Little Hallingbury Mill Hotel and Restaurant is situated on the Essex/Hertfordshire border. We are a small independent family run hotel who take great pride in delivering service, food and hospitality from the heart. Set alongside a pretty tributary of the River Stort, Little Hallingbury Mill is a grade II historic listed water mill providing a home to a hotel, restaurant and venue for small conferences, weddings and parties.

Situated between Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford, we are conveniently located for quick access to Stansted Airport and the M11 Motorway – just 10 minutes away by car/taxi. Our nearest mainline railway station is Sawbridgeworth which is approximately 1.5 miles away which is home to the London to Cambridge main line. In spite of being so close to the transport network, when you reach the Mill you will find a venue set in a beautiful, tranquil location which feels miles away from it all. The hotel offers en-suite guest accommodation with competitive rates starting at £45 per night including breakfast.

Our ground floor restaurant and bar is open to residents and non-residents every day for lunch and dinner. We have seasonal menus which have been carefully compiled and sourced by our head chef. We offer a classical menu with a contemporary twist.

On days when the weather is fine, we can serve meals in our garden overlooking colourful Hallingbury Marina. Booking is always advised particularly at the weekends to avoid disappointment.

We also have a first floor restaurant/function room which provides a comfortable, private venue for small meetings, conferences, and special celebrations, with all catering provided on site. The first floor restaurant also provides the home to our popular Sunday Carvery.

The Mill is licensed for wedding ceremonies and has all the facilities available to provide an intimate and affordable full wedding day package. The mill provides a rustic backdrop for your special day and is ideal for smaller, intimate gatherings. We have a range of wedding menus for every budget without compromising on quality and service.

We are currently in the process of upgrading our wedding facilities including the upgrade of our bridal suite and also the restoration of our annexe area to convert it back to a beautiful timber framed ground floor function room with capacity up to 60-70 guests. Work is expected to be complete by Autumn 2014.
