I had been at the Oasis Hotel for 2 days when i came across the review that said the hotel was dirty, smelly and full of retrobates and shady looking staff. I've never wrote a review before but this did really annoy and upset me. I arrived in the evening with my 6yr old daughter. I was greeted and welcomed by a well presented and polite man who introduced himself as the manager. He showed us round so we knew where every thing was. The only thing i could smell was the smell of washing powder. He took us to our room, the only thing i noticed was how at ease me and my daughter felt. The room was clean with twin beds both of which had clean bedding. It had all the things you find in any hotel. The room was child friendly. We have been here for 4 days now and not had any bad experiences. All the staff are welcoming. They treat you with respect. I think this hotel is excellent for what it does. Its pet friendly, child friendly and people friendly. Its a shame the person who wrote the review isn't.

This 'hotel' is an absolute disgrace. On first arrival, we were greeted by the sight of two police officers leaving the hotel whilst taking off latex gloves. There's also an assortment of strange and shadey looking characters walking around, one of which was behind the counter. On entry into the room, the smell of damp and musty air hit us and we were told the damp laminate floor was going to be fixed in 2 days. It had clearly been there for months if not years. It made the room smell of wet dogs. Disgusting. The fixtures were old, cheap and the whole hotel was dirty, dark, grim, grotty and rundown. The bedding was old and dated and so was the bathroom. The window had one of the locks missing, not particularly safe. After an hour out and about, we returned and decided that we couldn't stay in this hotel and it would be better to lose the £50 and go, rather than endure a night in this nightmarish 'hotel.' I use the term hotel loosely, its more like a halfway house or homeless shelter. I cannot stress enough that this horrible place should be avoided at all costs. I've travelled and love camping, but even that couldn't prepare me for a night in this hell hole. AVOID!!
