Had a great experience at farmhouse inns, despite it being busy at the weekend we were served very quickly. All the staff were great and very helpful. Especially the manager Kendal who attended to us and made sure everything was okay for us. The food was lovely and I loved the selection of cakes that they now have. The mr whippy ice cream topped it off!! Will definitely be back!
Wasn't especially impressed with the food, and the drinks machine is a waste of time! My hot chocolate was hot milk! I asked at the bar after a little bit of a wait, if the chocolate had run out, only to be given 3 scoops of chocolate to add to my now warm milk!
I have used this facility for many years and last night was without exception my worst experience. This was booked in advance hoping to enjoy carvery. Alas only ham left no beef or turkey. So we opted for steaks - no steaks either. We ended up with fish, which mushy on bottom and yes no mushy peas either. One guest could not eat it at all. The kids ice cream topping well there were none working. All in all a big disaster and when asked staff did not seem to know why many products were unavailable. The toilets were not attended too and the kids toilets were particularly unclean. I am unsure if this establishment has been taken over and changed hands but it is poor. Ah yes glasses etc piled up as staff stood around chatting. Not a good experience and unlikely to return unless it improves. Kid-friendliness: Toilets unclean and unhygienic. Dietary restrictions: I’m not sure what to say as it appears most meat options were unavailable
Carvery was fantastic today! It seemed very busy this afternoon, but nothing was too much for the team I interacted with, all helped us with a smile on their faces! Carvery chefs were great too! My husband had the combo feast and it was brilliant ! We will be back soon, and this time we’re taking cake home, I can’t stop thinking about that cake display! YUM!
Food was really nice. Starters delicious. Main course was carvery. Don't usually do carvery, but on this occasion, the meats were delicious, excellent selection of veggies which were warm but not baked to a crisp by overhead heat lamps. No room for a dessert but you can ask to take it home for later. A great experience overall. Like the Terminator, "I'll be back!"
Was there for our granddaughters 1st birthday on the 3rd Oct. The staff were really helpful and cheery. Food was great, a brilliant selection on the carvery and all meats just melted in your mouth. Took cake home, which was tasty. We will definitely be back. Well done everyone for making our visit a pleasant one.
Great selection of dishes on the menu or choose from the carvery. Plate sizes small, standard or large allow for you to choose according to your appetite. Desserts are huge! Self serve for soft drinks, tea & coffee. Only downside was my scampi and chips was served quite cold so had to be returned, though pleasant staff had no problem to replace it piping hot.
Fantastic place for the kids and family! lovely cozy restaurant that offers an amazing carvery as well as a decent menu selection. The cakes are amazing and can be bought to take home! the kids loved the outdoor and indoor play area - such a great thing to have when out for a family meal
Was in this week with my friend and her son. We dined in the family area. This allowed him to join the play area and didn’t restrict him to staying at the table. Denise was on hand to look after our every request. I’ve come across Denise a few times and knew I was in good hands. She is so friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. She takes everything in her stride with a smile. Never see her flustered. Total asset to the company. She makes dining there a pleasure. My friends son gave a big high five for his meal and refillable juice/ water. Cake was amazing too! can’t forget the cake!
We go here often for breakfast, hoping it will get better but it doesn’t so not sure we will be back. There had been rain on Friday so car park had spaces full of water. Why is this not dealt with to ensure water runs off? 5 spaces near the entrance we not useable. Why do we have to queue up on arrival when the place is empty and wait for staff to tell us where to sit? Some staff have the attitude that they are doing us a favour rather than realizing we pay and they get paid. If staff don’t like working with the public they shouldn’t be customer facing. Breakfast buffet is always cold doesn’t help to have cold plates!. Those square sausages are disgusting. One good point is you can help yourself to any number of hot drinks provided you pay for unlimited!. Although there is only one coffee machine so there is always a wait. There are always flies around which raises questions on hygiene. I even saw a family arrive while buffet was still available to be told “not available”. Just feels this place is not be run well, customers are a nuisance and plates are never cleared from the table. This place is not cheap so there are other places which provide better quality at cheaper prices. Give it a miss for breakfast! Parking: Get the car park drained of water so the spaces can be used.
