Nice curry but there was three of us dining and we all ordered different curries it was sadly apparent that the same base sauce had been used for three and the 3 dishes tasted the same. They were still nice curries but not exactly what we ordered. Seemed like the staff/chef didn't think we'd know the difference but we've been eating curry for thirty odd years. Lazy cooking and a shame because what we had was tasty but not what we ordered.
Carry out. First waiter could not understand English, even when I pointed to the items on the menu. Second not much better and they still got one item wrong - lamb instead of chicken. Sign up saying cash only do I had too go and get cash; then they asked if I was paying cash or card! Food was okay but I don't think I'll be back.
I have used this restaurant for over 20 years. The food has always been very good and the staff are lovely. I normally go for carry out food. When I have went for a sit in meal the surroundings are pleasant and we'll furnished however it tends to be fairly quiet.Food: 4/5
I dropped in to Mirage this evening with the Mrs for a pint and a few starters. The place wasn't busy at all, which is a shame as the food was very tasty and keenly priced. They pour a good pint as well. Staff were really friendly and stopped to chat to us which was nice. I really hope business picks up as this is a wee gem of a restaurant. Will be back.
First time visiting the mirage and unfortunately will be our last, food was ready to collect on time and the guy who served was pleasant enough but when we got the takeaway home the food wasn’t up-to scratch ordered a garlic Nan and got served a oily non garlic Nan, ordered 2 different curries and both suspiciously looked and tasted the same horrid. The chips and paroka went in the bin aswell. Waste of £27 and I can see why it’s always empty and finally the door to the takeaway side of the restaurant only opens half way your probably want to fix that
Takeaway arrived when expected. Food nice enough but I so wish Indian takeaways gave you options to order smaller portions. Only ate less than half, which means it works our expensive for what you eat.
Terrible biryani. Chicken was hard. Sauce was just like tasteless hot tomato sauce. The taste was nothing like Asian food. I guarantee I can cook a better biryani than that. They used to sell tasty food but unfortunately the taste and quality went downhill in recent years. I will never go back. I'd rather have toasted cheese, it'll be better by miles.
Went here today with grandkids who are very fussy eaters can't believe how much they ate. Joey had 2 deserts as well as starter and main meal and Danielle ate just as much. Food great, service great and staff great too! Absolutely recommended 100%
