I had a hysterectomy a few months ago had a wonderful experience and being told by GP it could be cancer was scanned within 3 days and had further appointments quickly. Then the op the treatment I received at Branston ward and other wards I attended was excellent, the hospital was clean and the staff caring and friendly. It was a horrible time but I'm so grateful for the excellent work they all do. Even the food was good
Ashley from A an E taking duties at front desk on 15/10/2022 at 20:17. This person tried to send my 4 year old daughter home without seeing anyone about her illness without making any examination showing totally unprofessional in his duties. Person didn't what introduce his full name calming there is only one Ashley.
The receptionist staff were so rude when assisting a family member, having to wait 3/4 hours to be told what’s happening. The way staff spoke to other over listening was disgusting. There should of been more and better staff on. That actually like there job!!
Went for blood test. Took ticket. The waiting areas were ridiculously full. It appeared they were taking one person every 15 minutes. How long does it take to draw a bit of blood????? I gave up after an hour. I love my health services but this service appears to let everyone down. Pull your socks up and move things along
I have attended the hospital's A and E 3 times in a week after concerns from recent open heart surgery became serious. I went on Sunday afternoon after feeling very unwell, saw doctors and on the same night was told I would have to stay in. I finally got a bed 44 hours later !!. Not only was I exhausted from sitting in a chair for that length of time but also grabbing about 3 hours sleep over that period does not aid recovery and added to not feeling well. Though the wait was apalling, we were fed and watered which was a welcomed bonus. Even though the wait was horrendous I do want to mention the exemplary care of doctors and staff who I saw and the same could be said once on a ward. They are all professionals wanting to do their jobs to the best of their ability but whose hands are tied by a fast failing system that does not support them well at all. Unfortunately, people take up their time even more by attending with fairly minor ailments but again, most probably from not being able to get an appointment with their own doctor....again also all part of the failing system. The amount of drunks and people involved in fights attending is a real eye opener and there should be other centres open for their treatment.this is all time consuming for staff and embarrassing and uncomfortable for others. Complaints are many and frequent about this hospital but equally the staff deserve a huge pat on the back...not only for their hours of work, dedicated service and tolerance of some, but for staying in a system where there is little feel good factor or appreciation only support from other staff members. I for one am totally appreciative of the attention once on a ward and the continued care.
The Breast Care Unit..went over and above. My Consultant Miss Sami and my Breast care nurse Kate Hughes were absolutely amazing kind caring and compassionate . 1st class care and I would highly recommend without doubt this hospital re Breast cancer and breast care treatment.XXX
A big thank you to everyone on EASU ward for care I received during a recent stay on ward. Also a massive thank you to everyone on endoscopy for my treatment yesterday 8/11/22. THANK YOU
Sat in a chair for 18 hours in A&E with severe leg cellulitis and nothing to eat was not pleasant but once on MEAU and then Witham ward the staff were fantastic, Max was just the best sister on shift.
I did wait 12 hours A/E 4 hours to emergency operation. I blame NHS ONLY.Almost 40 years a Nurse - ALL STAFF WERE DEDICATED, PROFESSIONAL, CARING- FROM DOMESTIC, TEA LADY, EVERY CARER , NURSE,SISTER,PORTER,JUNIOR DOCTOR TO CONSULTANT, RADIOLOGY FANTASTIC, THEATRE STAFF.FIRST DOCTOR "SAVED MY LIFE" THANKYOU ONE AND ALL.
82 yr old mum had operation on broken wrist. Was left sitting in wheelchair after no drinks, she couldn't talk properly as she was thst dry.Discharge letter said right arm was operated on when it was the left arm.She shud of gone back after 2wks no appt arrived. When I rang them no one realised she was waiting for appt to go back. This was a disaster from start to finsh
