I Unacceptable and Discriminatory Customer ServicennI am beyond frustrated with the consistently appalling treatment I’ve received from the cashiers at this location. This isn’t an isolated incident—it’s a pattern of disrespect and negligence that I can no longer ignore.nnThe cashiers blatantly refuse to offer basic courtesies like a simple greeting. When they make mistakes—and they do—they show zero accountability, offering no apologies or attempts to correct their behaviour. This is not just poor service; it’s a complete disregard for the customer’s presence and dignity.nnEven more disturbing is the clear, unsettling bias in how customers are treated. Some are met with politeness and smiles, while others, including myself, are dismissed with cold indifference. The discriminatory undertones are impossible to ignore, whether based on skin colour or other superficial judgments. This isn’t just bad service—it borders on outright prejudice. Put a dog there, it will do a better job!nnTo be clear, this isn’t a general expectation of all customer service experiences. I recently visited M&S, purchased a few items, and was met with professional, courteous service. The contrast was striking—proof that respectful, attentive service is not too much to ask.nnI demand that management address this toxic culture immediately. Such behaviour is unacceptable in any professional environment, and it reflects poorly not just on the staff but on the entire establishment. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, fairness, and decency—no exceptions.
We travelled 50miles specially for advertised Nordic Offers. Many items on 1st offer day not available eg none of the 4 sausage types, only 1 of the 3 cheeses etc, on Thu 13 eve. Staff said they had not come in yet!nNo staff took any responsibility. Frankly we cannot do a 100mile round trip with this outcome, and will have great difficulty in responding to future promotions. A v poor outcome for an otherwise attractive store.
I wouldn't usually review a supermarket, but this place deserves mention for the ease of parking for those in a van or camper. Large bays, plenty of space to maneuver between them, and located just off a main road junction.nThe place was spotlessly clean, the all important bakery well stocked, and 'the middle of Lidl' special buys, were in good supply.nA recommended stopover if travelling/camping in southern Galloway.
Low score is for the grunt of a staff member on the check out in the Dumfries store today.nHaving spent just over £120 and with nobody in the queue he run amok on the till resulting in 2 of us basicly throwing our purchases into bags and resulting in damage.nKind of takes the edge of shopping when some things were damaged or squished as a result.nHe then got to sit and do nothing.
Moden, spacious, well set out store, and a nice man helpful at the self checkout
