I always find Lidl to be a shop where I can guarantee to find not only the everyday things that I need, but at times surprise goodies.Am also glad they have a range of gluten free foods.

I visited the Woodley-Berkshire branch of Lidl earlier this evening where Iwas served by a member of staff who I can only describe as the most offensive cashier I've ever had the displeasure to encounter.
At the till there were two woman in front of me, the first a lady in her i would say mid sixties and the next a much younger woman.
As he came to put their shopping through he started rooting through their empty bags saying there had been a lot of thefts in the shop, no apologies or politeness about it, he was like a border patrol agent on the sniff for a stash of heroin.
As I approached I put my empty bags on top of my shopping so he could have a look, maybe get the sniffer dogs in. He started looking over my clearly empty trolley, turning it around to get a look from all angles. Moving the child seat back and forth a few times whilst telling me how people stash things in there to steal in a very matter of fact way. Once finished, I paid and he practically threw my receipt as if disappointed yet again that he'd failed to catch a thief. Maybe he's on some sort of comision.
I can only imagine how the two poor ladies in front of me felt, this humiliating behaviour is completely unacceptable in my view. I work in a very public facing environment where respect politeness and fairness are the cornerstone to everything.
There are at least three other supermarkets within 5 minutes of Woodley, one is a brand new Aldi.
I would suggest anyone thinking of coming here, to completely avoid it.
I've been coming here once or twice a month for the last four years we've been in the area and I will never set foot in it again because of this disgusting behaviour. His demeaner was brash, arrogant, dismissive and utterly unacceptable.

Good range of fresh veg and fruit. Fresh bakery items. Fresh flowers. Meat, fish and ready meals. All usual grocery and supermarket items at competitive prices. Parking free after 6pm. Helpful staff and changing weekly deals. Something for everyone.

I like lidl because it is good value for money .I was pleasantly surprised at my bill.
