**Hotel Review**nnI recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and from start to finish, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The service was excellent, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay.nnThe hotel’s location is superb, offering easy access to key attractions and ensuring convenience throughout my trip. It’s only 5 minutes walk to the beach. Cleanliness was clearly a top priority, as the rooms and common areas were immaculate and well-maintained.nnSpecial mention must go to the professional and courteous staff, especially Miss Maria at reception. She was incredibly supportive and went above and beyond to assist us, displaying true professionalism and dedication to guest satisfaction.nnI would also like to extend my gratitude to the General Manager, Ivy, and the owner, Mr. Richard, who made our stay even more memorable. Their personal involvement, including upgrading our room, ensured that we were more than comfortable and felt truly valued as guests.nnOverall, I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking excellent service, a prime location, and a team that is committed to going the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. I look forward to returning!
We stayed at the Victoria last week during August Summer holidays. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the towels were always fresh and the room was clean with an amazing view of the beach. We had breakfast one of the days which was really good. You're right in the centre of Newquay so it is good to get anywhere.nnHowever, the hotel is extremely dated and needs a huge refurb. It's as if nothing has been replaced since it was built! We used the pool in the hotel, which was lovely and deep but the changing rooms were diabolical! The shower door was off one of them and rested in another shower, a toilet roll holder was completely rusted, and it was just minging! I think there's lots of easy ways to refresh some things and its just been neglected.nnAlso, we did have a travel cot. We had to make a makeshift mattress with the quilt and runners off the bed because it was completely hard and there were stains all over the travel cot. Lesson learnt- we will take our own to future hotels! I did mention this to the reception and I was told it wasn't her problem, I would have to speak to housekeeping the next day. Other than that, all the other members of staff were really warm and welcoming.
Room was very nice and clean. Water pressure lacking. We had a beautiful ocean view and breezenProperty is getting a bit run down and was empty on the ground floor- all meetings and central areas were dark and empty. Elevator was not working which they notified us 2 days prior to arrival. We were on the 3 rd floor with bags. Before you book ask if they got it fixed!nnFront desk staff was abrupt and unfriendlynLocation was good for bus/rail station. Easy walking to harbor and bay. Easy day trip to areas like Penzance, St Isaac. Funky beach town feel.
Amazing hotel right in the middle of Newquay! Incredible views from breakfast and the rooms. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room all available to use at your fancy with extra towels included. No lifeguard so if you have kids you have to watch them. Breakfast could fully cater for gluten free and was delicious! An absolute brilliant stay for very cheap. Perfect for surfers as you can walk to the beach and also easily get to Fistral North.
Location top for town and the coast, staff great, breakfast was pretty standard buffet English and continental but ticked all the boxes and had a nice view, I'd get again for sure. Pool area was a bit tired and after 1 use I didn't go back down, Sauna was hardly hot at all. Pretty old school building which I enjoyed. Room was pretty basic but nothing to complain about at all. I'd come again as it was a work trip and I didn't spend much time in the room anyway.
