Lawson’s cars Middlesbrough… Usually I buy all my cars from riverside car sales and have done for years but I was recommended to Lawson’s as they had a particular model I was looking for. I read the website and was impressed with the USP how every car was hand picked and even the smallest imperfections were put right before they went on the forecourt.. When I arrived at the garage I was pleasantly surprised as I didn’t even know that this garage was still around and I’ve lived in Misdlesbrough all my life. I spoke to the salesman and asked about the car, it was up for 21,995 I ask if we could do anything on the price? I explained what the truck was for and how it would be used, he went away and asked the manager if there was any movement on the price to what he replied “NO THE PRICE IS THE PRICE” we’re here to make money and our cars are 100% perfect his exact words I bought the car and paid in full. Within 10 mins of driving away a warning light had come on “tire sensor malfunction, I had this check immediately from A66 tire who confirmed it was an issue with the valves in the tires upon that I noticed a few more issues, the body kit they fitted was coming loose, the break light on the rear cab had been cut off and there was a creese in the drivers door. I emailed them and explained the issues and commented how these issue must have been overlooked in there normal standard and asked if they could be put right. The car was dropped on and the same day the car was returned with issues resolved apart from the creese in the door touched in with a touch up pen. The staff went on to tell us that “it’s a 4 year old car there is going to be stuff wrong with it” Not according to there usp on the website and the advise of the salesman when I bought it! I had the creese checked by a insurance approved body shop and they confirmed it needed a new door hinge and check strap and the dent removing and painting as prior to me buying it the door had over extended and bent the strap and hinge. Lawson’s called the body shop and the shop told them what was required but Lawson’s did not want to do that, they just wanted a quick fix and to cut corners and the body shop refused to carry out a bodge job and refused to carry it out in that way.. I have gave Lawson’s the chance to put this right and follow up on the promise they made. As a result Lawson’s compared another Ford ranger and said both hinges look the same. Basically saying the insure approved repairer was falsifying the extent of the damage. Their current stance is that they will take the car back and issue a refund for the original amount paid. However since purchasing the car £1500 has been spent on accessories and signage which will leave me out of pocket also pending a repair bill! Make up your own mind based on my experience it would I ever buy a car from there again ? Not a chance, would I recommend you to? No way.. Seems the intial statement of “they need to make money” is the only one they truly mean and the rest is all false.. Mike Hind MBE
Purchased my new Car from Adam at Lawson garage . As a woman going car shopping as many know can be a very daunting experience. Eg pushy sales men , unapproachable, no privacy whilst trying to find what you like …. well none of these from Lawson . The whole experience from start to finish was brilliant. No hard sell . Left to view cars alone and also no problem me test driving car . Over all a very stress free transaction. They even had a look at my daughters car free of charge while we were collecting my new car . Great team and would definitely recommend this garage for anyone wishing to Purchase a new car . Came for an ADAS calibration having seen a post on Facebook and apparently was one of their first customers for this service as it’s been recently been installed, very professional service honest and I was provided with a print out of the calibration figures to keep with my service records. Best of all my active cruise control now works!
Bought our car from here in 2017, still have it and it’s never let us down we’ve had the car maintained and MOT’d at Lawson Cars in that time and it’s never been particularly expensive. Service is good, reliable and efficient. When looking to replace the car this will be the first place we’ll visit. Trustworthy car dealer 5 stars

A great local dealership. I have purchased 4 cars from this company in the last 7 years. All have been great cars and we still have two of them. Tim has always been our sales advisor and has exceeded all expectations he is very personal and will go the extra mile. Service department are also great and very reasonably priced. I wouldn’t use any another dealership for used cars.

Fantastic experience picking up my new BMW 640d M Sport today, very friendly dealership and in no way pushy to get the sale. Tim and John are just down to earth guys who speak to you like they've known you forever. Overall very happy and will be going there again for my next car.
