The towpath is one of my favourite regular walks. So many different routes are available so you can have such a different experience each time you visit. Definitely worth a visit.
Go here regularly, enjoy walking along the river down to lock keepers, back up the other side of the river into the forest its always enjoyable. I avoid the lock keeps restaurant expensive and have ended up with a couple of tummy bugs eating there. When the kayaking people are there enjoy watching them.
A great walking and cycling surface with no climbs extending from the edge of Belfast to Lisburn. Benches available for picnics or just to rest. Pretty busy at the Belfast end but still enjoyable scenery.

A great asset for Belfast. The lungs of the city giving refuge from traffic and pollution for locals and tourists. Very popular with walkers, cyclists and runners providing a shared space for all. Linking Belvoir Forest, Lady Dixon Park and Barnets Demense. Cycle the whole way from Titanic Quarter to Lisburn alongside the River Lagan, traffic free apart for a short section from Ormeau to Stranmillis.
Within easy access of Belfast but within 5 minutes transported into Woods and meadows of the Lagan.And you can see the rapid transformation of Stranmillis weir and bridge across to Belvoir Woods
Its a lovely place for a walk been going there since I was a kid & now im bringing my kids there.
I love the towpath and Giant's Ring area & take the dog regularly. Only suggestion more bins
Beautiful place for a walk a long the tow path. my advice would be go on a week day as not so busy as weekend. Most dogs were on leads great play ground for kids. Definitely worth the visit
Lovely we park plenty to do in it.
