Step inside and step into a whole different shopping experience. This is a treasure trove and a dangerous place as I want to buy everything. Such a great range and no matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it here. The upstairs is equally dangerous with everything from puzzles to art supplies and the downstairs wall of jars of sweets… do not enter if you are hungry, you won’t be able to resist! Always welcomed by the staff and they clearly put a lot of thought into everything they do. An absolute treasure.
Literally this is THE best shop in Royston, twice this week they have saved the day with a wedding cake I'm making. Casually mentioned that I would have liked a board that looked like a slice of tree and Yolanda say...'think I've got one of those!'.. What was the chances!!...... Xmas Cards are the absolutely best, the varieties of chocolates, biscuits and sweets are incredible. Any stationary needs and beautiful fountain pens all our doorstop!! Only a quick trip to Royston, quicker than Amazon could have done!! The lovely ladies that work there are an absolute delight and I'm so very grateful after what was the worse year for small business this family run business is still going strong!! Keep supporting them!
Couldn't find I wanted in another stationery shop, so dropped into Ladds just in case they could help. It was the right choice. Good stationery selection upstairs, helpful staff, and a great confectionery emporium downstairs. Top marks - I'll be back!
It is a lovely shop full which I visit regularly. They stock every type of sweets you could imagine, including speciality chocolates in the shape of animals, toys, etc. They also sell cards. I always find the staff very friendly and helpful.
I popped into the shop looking for a better deal on a cigar,I wouldn't recommend this shop for cigars they aren't kept very well and actually I got the best out of a bad bunch and it still wasn't very good although the 2 ladies who worked there did seem very friendly the one who served me had no understanding of how to handle or look after the product. I would recommend you go to Cambridge wines for a better quality cigar. Cigars aside the shop was very welcoming and well kept with lots of interesting stuff. 3/5 would have been 5/5 if it wasn't for the cigars.
Ladd’s is the jewel of Royston high street. The staff are knowledgable, friendly and helpful; the many things I’ve bought over the years always good quality. Beautiful cards, amazing chocolates, lovely stationery and all manner of party paraphernalia.I was impressed when I asked for a fountain pen with a left-handed nib and not only did they have one but there was a choice of colour!
A friend shared a post on Facebook showing Ladds mini sweet bags for advent calendars, I contacted them via FB that day, within an hour they were back to me. Sweets ordered and sent same day Wed I needed them sending to my daughter in Yorkshire. She got them Friday morning. This year's Advent Calendars sorted! Fabulous idea and great service. Than You
Fantastic little traditional sweet, card, cake decorating shop. Family values friendly helpful staff. Sweets in jars, unusual cards. brilliant asset to Royston high Street.
Downstairs are old fashioned sweets and chocolate boxes and best of all a great chocolate counter with truffles and chocolates shaped like fish and such. Upstairs is more to do with baking with cake tins and decorations. If you need any baking equipment definitely try upstairs you'll be surprised. And the chocolate is fantastic
