La Gourmandina is a newcomer on the London Food and Wine scene.
Dedicated to French and Italian gastronomy, we serve only the freshest seasonal products of the highest quality. From breakfast to dinner in the Deli and Tasting Room. With Shop Area.

Story

Why a mix between France and Italy?
Because that’s where La Gourmandina's owners are from: Marie was born and raised in France, in the Alps region, while her husband, Stefano, is native from Venice, Italy.

What is (and is not) La Gourmandina:

We like to define ourselves as “French and Italian Enogastronomic Ambassadors”.
Most of the products you will find in our deli and shop areas are coming from small and medium size producers who are still working in an artisan way. We have selected them because of their quality, the story they are telling and the way they represent a specific terroir.
As we have no intention of stealing the producers’ thunder, you won’t find any La Gourmandina's label.
Our “only” role is to bring these amazing cheeses, cured meats, pasta, oils, wines, etc… directly to you and give you the possibility to enjoy them comfortably seated in our Tasting and Deli rooms, or to take them back with you, to the office or for home.

We are not a restaurant, so don’t expect any pretentious dish on the menu. Our products are served in the simplest way, because we believe that when the product is good, it speaks for itself.

A friendly and tasty place to eat. acoustics make it a little noisy or maybe the tables are bit wide. Usually limited availability on dishes if you arrive later for lunch but good food and wine. London pricing so it's not too cheap.

The setting is very cosy and I really enjoyed my spaghetti bolagbaise tonight. They do an amazing extra large sized Bordeaux wine and our group was very happy. The cheese platter went down a treat. This place is known for its burgers and the chips are crispy and fluffy on be inside. The waiter was helpful but at times I felt like he was rushing us.

Tucked away at the back is a cozy seated area perfect for a romantic evening. The quality of food is superb, the service above and beyond what you find in most London eateries. Thoroughly recommend, has certainly made it in to my list of favourites.

Lovely Italian deli / cafe. Coffee is properly old-world; expect no fancy local roastery or third-wave barista, but an honest espresso from over-roasted beans, just the way they like it. Meals and pastries are always fresh and delicious.

My fave cafe in London. Great sharing platters to eat and a variety of other quality food. Nice window front to sit at and watch the world go by.

I was in the area by chance one evening when I noticed this cosy place that I then learnt had just opened a few weeks before. I went in for a glass of wine and ended up having a great tasting experience with delicious French and Italian products. The place is in fact owned by a French and Italian couple who are bringing to the table some of the finest products from their countries: cheeses, cured meats, delicacy products there's also a yummy shop area, etc. A sommelier guided me to the wine list and helped me decide for an excellent glass of Pinot Noir. Really a great place discovered by chance. Will now definitely go back with friends soon. Reccomanded.

I simply love this place! Excellent food and good wine selection, great service and atmosphere! Go there if you want to enjoy an authentic Mediterranean experience!

Wonderful experience overall: outstanding pate, glowing atmosphere. Great for a special romantic evening especially if your have a palate for rich French food.

When Marie decided to quit her job in the hotel industry and open up La Gourmandina, her very own cafe, wine bar and restaurant on one of TSL's favourite streets in Holborn - Lambs Conduit Street - we were very thankful for the change in life direction. Now city goers have a serene spot to try out an authentic mix of French and Italian fare thanks to the unique combination of Marie's French influences with that of her Italian husband, Stefano. Appalling. Massively overpriced tiny portions of mediocre food you could easily make at home. Service is slow and the staff unorganised. Menu is limited and ridiculously expensive for such small portions of very average food. Eat lunch anywhere other than here.
