I recently dined at Isolabella and had a mixed experience. The Gnocchi with Gorgonzola was just okay—creamy but lacking that standout flavor. The Gamberoni Piccanti king prawns with chilli, garlic, white wine, and tomato sauce was quite dull, with the prawns themselves not being as flavorful as expected. I also tried the Zaraglione dessert whisked egg yolks, white wine, Marsala wine, and sugar, which was quite disappointing and not something I’d order again. Overall, Isolabella offers a decent dining experience, but the food didn’t leave a lasting impression. For an Italian restaurant, it’s solid, but I’ve had better elsewhere.
A really nice find for a Friday evening. The staff were friendly and efficient. There is currently deals on opentable and tastecard for a discount on the final bill. We had starters, mains, sides, a glass of rose each and a dessert to share. It came to around £80 with service charge. We had a calamari and olives starter. I thought the starter portions were good unfortunately I was too hungry to take a photo. Mains and sides were lasagne, linguine, courgette fries and broccoli. My salmon linguine was fantastic. There was so much that I wanted to try on the menu, so I will be returning. My only critique would be the price of the dessert. £9.15 before discount for three profiteroles seems disproportional.
Such a wonderful place, everyone was just lovely, especially a Portuguese waiter, he was very friendly, helpful and patient with us. The food is tasty, good portions and very well presented, good timing in between starters and mains, we also had desserts that were delicious. Price are good! We had 2 bottles of Prosecco and still was a very good price each.
Had a great meal at Isolabella. I ordered the sea bass. All side dishes are extra at around £6. The sautéed potatoes were excellent, Prices are acceptable, a meal for 2 with drinks came to £78. The good thing is there is no service charge. Overall a very enjoyable meal. Located at the top end of red lion street. Quite busy during a recent visit. Had the chicken pasta which was very good. Would certainly visit again.
I had my birthday dinner here and can attest to the fact that is a perfect place for big group dinners! Their service is lovely and staff are so friendly and give you great recommendations. They have a good veggie selection which I love! I would recommend their cannelloni if you love cheese or their funghi pasta. Their tiramisu is also really good albeit a bit overpriced. Overall, I had a lovely time at Isolabella and I look forward to coming here again!
Cute little place. Spacious. Great for groups. Service was excellent and a good varied menu. Had their specialty fish lobster linguine - lobster was a little tough but great flavours. Out of the way of the hustle and bustle.
It says it’s an Italian restaurant which is not. The menu is in English and Italian but the translation doesn’t correspond and most of the words in Italian are misspelled. The food quality and the way it’s cooked is very average, nothing to do with authentic Italian food and not even tasty. The high prices don’t reflect the quality of the food. The only positive things were the service and the venue itself. If they change the cook and with more attention to details it could have a better potential
Brilliant Italian food, the Vongole was fantastic. Starters were huge, main course perfect, desserts were delicious. Staff friendly, swift and helpful. Highly recommended! Wheelchair accessibility: One step up from streetlevel.
Lovely little traditional Italian restaurant with authentic Italian-speaking, polite waiters. I would definitely class the restaurant as ‘higher end’, however I have noticed it caters to all crowds; from lunching families all the way to office folk for brunch! Seemingly always busy around peak times. The food is authentic and the portion sizes healthy; the buzz of the crowds tightly packed table to table in this lovely, little restaurant speaks for itself! I have visited twice. Both times I ordered the Bruschetta starter; crispy toast with garlic and balsamic tossed, fresh tomatoes. One word; Heavenly! However beware if you’re not a garlic fan! … not for the faint hearted! : Mains: Grilled sirloin steak with a side of fries and cream and mushroom sauce at my request as opposed to pepper corn, steak sauce The steak was flavoursome, albeit a tad bit fatty and as a result thereof a bit chewy. The mushroom sauce was delicious, as were there crispy fries. Please find Photos below Another time I had the Veal in tomato sauce,- also delicious and tender, however the meat portion was significantly smaller than the steak was, and the tomato sauce a bit bland for my liking.
Had a really nice evening here with my friends. Good service from the start: offered complimentary olives which was a nice touch. However we asked for medium rare for our sirloin steak but it came out medium-well done, and the sauce wasn’t great. The food was good otherwise. I appreciated not being fleeced on service charge. This was very refreshing for London - which is why I gave 5 stars despite the steak.
