Twice I've tried to come here and twice I've been turned away, when the restaurant was literally 95% empty. They won't get my patronage again, particularly with the rude front of house staff. The first time, I was trying to book for a birthday dinner. I tried to book ahead as we had a large party of 13. We were told that there were no seats for us at our preferred time, which was 7pm. That was understandable, so we booked somewhere nearby instead. 

However on the day, we walked past at around 7:05pm and then later at 9pm and the restaurant was completely empty, save for maybe two tables of two. I couldn't understand why they had rejected us. 

The second time my friend and I (only two of us) went in on the day in order to see whether they'd be more flexible for on the spot guests (as many restaurants will put aside a number of seats to anticipate for impromptu customers). However when we arrived at 4:40, we were rudely told that they had bookings at 6pm and therefore they had no room. 

The whole restaurant was empty, apart from two ladies who were just tucking into their plates of (delicious-smelling) pasta, that had clearly just arrived. 

Once again, La Coppola chose to turn away guests and didn't even have the decency to explain to them why an empty restaurant couldn't seat two people, before the dinner rush. 

We will never try again.

Terrible service. All the waiters but one were extremely rude at the table, as they couldn't wait to go back home after the day. You don't let people to reserve at 9.00 pm on a Saturday evening if this is the kind of treatment you provide to your clients. I felt very uncomfortable here, which is unacceptable for a place which serves barely above average dishes.
At my complaints to the manager, after telling him that I was dissatisfied and I would never come back, he mocked me saying that they're always full anyway...

A bit disappointed with this place. Food was okay only let down by the staff, they weren't very welcoming. We have eaten in a few Italian restaurants and the staff were fantastic, pity about la coppola.

Absolutely impeccable, incredible food, faultless service & beautiful atmosphere.  Couldn't recommend it higher!!  A must try are the arancini balls and the risotto la coppola .  I would definitely prebook, as it is  very popular restaurant.  We sat upstairs which is lovely and secluded.  Honestly this place is unmissable..an incredible experience all round.

Exceptional and Excellence in Italian cuisine! Great, classy, super for dates. Very reasonably priced for its amazing quality of food.
