Had a wonderful evening here celebrating my son's graduation. Hard to explain what it's like, as there are few places like it - basically, it's a very small informal restaurant that serves up really excellent authentic Japanese food. The food is plentiful, with sushi, in particular, of a standard that you're unlikely to have had before in the UK. You'll almost certainly share your table with other people, but that works really well if you accept the idea that meals are also times to talk the 'no mobiles' rule also helps. The staff are really nice, genuine, people who work hard and clearly just want you to enjoy your food and time with them. Great job, guys - we'll be back sometime when we're south of the border again.
The best Japanese restaurant I have been to in the UK. We went for the £29 menu. Laura and Darren chef explained every dish to us. Very fresh food but also large portion, which makes me hard to believe it's only a £29 menu. The environment is very cosy. Definitely will come back again and I already start to imagine dine on a cold winter night, drink sake together with the delicious food. Winter life can't be better.
My husband and I had a lovely meal here on 30th December. The restaurant is not large but being first to arrive we were invited to choose between a shared table of six or sitting together near the chef. We chose to share which is not uncommon in Japan. We were joined by two local couples and left feeling that we'd known them forever. The food was excellent and Darren appears to rise to any challenge because one of the couples are vegan and it was fascinating to see their dishes. You could only do this if you sat together. The lovely Laura is an amazing host / waitress and is very entertaining. No phones - bliss! Downside? We don't live close enough to go regularly, but we'll be back. Thank you both for a fabulous evening.
Had a great evening with a large group of colleagues at Auradaze recently. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, with the food being plentiful and tasty. We had opted for the £25 fixed price option. The atmosphere is cozy too and the "no phone" rule is a welcome change.
Staff is lovely although many of you say they are rude, we never had a bad experience and some of the food was great... However, I really like sushi, and I have always find the sushi at this place disgusting. Basicaly, they place a massive piece of very cold fish right out of the fridge on a tiny ball of rice, so you need to chop it in half and eat the other half as sashimi. What is wrong with them? Who tought them to cook sushi like that?. I have never seen anything like it in my life, and I have been in Japan several times. Disgusting cold sushi, the rest of the dishes are always pretty good!
Amazing food and great service! You'll probably find you'll have to prebook a table but it is well worth it! Expect some exciting dishes and something away from the norm.
Food was over the top amazing. Very small place and chef and waitress were Very nice. Chatted with her throughout dinner while watching the chef preparing the courses.
I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is incredible, the service is personal and friendly. The mood of the whole place is unlike anywhere else I've ever been. Just go. Do it.
Called in to book a table and they said its wrong number. upon checking google the number i called and the number stated is the same. Why will they not book in a customer? It wouldn't surprise me if they deny to serve even after a booking has happened. looking at the other reviews it shows this was been a case in the past where customer were denied serving. All the best. UPDATE*** The below reply by the person is so funny and it proves they lie a lot. I called from Manchester to book a table as I'm visiting some of my friends there. and the person says he saw me in the premises? I need the thing, what you guys are on lol. I called the mobile number and asked is it auradaze ?and the person who spoke told NO ITS WRONG NUMBER!! asked again and he said wrong number and hung up now they say they have seen me in the deli????? do something better than suggesting me on what to do. If you do what you have to then nobody is going whine or sulk or get upset. Many Many Thanks
Amazing food. Small place but very cozy. Book the bar seats to enjoy watching how your food is made.
