Not worth it. The prices are too high for the taste of the food. I was excited because it was vegan food and I was looking for some place that would serve tteokbokki without fishcake, but it's unfortunate that they don't even replace it with something else, they just take it away. The flavors are not even similar to other Korean locals I've been to, so honestly I wouldn't go back, we ate little and paid a lot. The attention was not the greatest either.
Excellent, quick service, massive portions and tasty food, so not much about which one can complain. It is very rare to find a restaurant that caters to both non-vegetarians and vegans with decent choices, so top marks to whomever conceived the idea. A word of warning - do NOT come without a reservation unless you are prepared to wait. The restaurant is very open and honest about this, so no points lost, but should be kept in mind in case you are in a hurry.
This is a lovely quaint restaurant tucked away near the Barbican which is super popular. The atmosphere is wonderful, very chilled, the service is really good and the staff are polite and attentive. I was impressed with the speed of food coming out of the kitchen and it was freshly cooked. I really wanted to rate this place higher but the food just lacked that "delicious" factor and there was nothing specially notable or something that I would want to go back for, perhaps some starters. I did go with the staffs recommendations.
I was very excited to come here with my friends who are muslim. This is a unique place with halal meat served in Korean cuisine. BUT THERE IS NO TABLE KOREAN BBQ which is very misleading despite the the name of the restaurant. The meat was a bit too oily and the rest of the food is good such as the Korean fried chicken/ Kim chi/ cheese spicy friend chicken.
We came for a visit to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday and had an amazing time. Having been a massive Kdrama fan for years she was itching to try the dishes she'd seen in her favourite shows and we were not disappointed. Everything was absolutely delicious and the only disappointment was we didn't have enough room to try more dishes.
Overall very busy so can't be a bad place. Great the fact that it had a good vegan range and all dishes are halal. Food was ok. Was recommended by my sister but she said that the food was off today and normally alot better. So I'll give them a chance again. Vegetarian options: They have about 12 vegan dishes which was really good. Also halal Kid-friendliness: I had taken my 1 year old and staff were really friendly.
Excellent service, delicious halal Korean food. The menu is quite extensive with a lot of options. Everything we ordered was delicious. Restaurant is very spacious. Still make a booking to ensure you get a table as it gets busy especially on weekends.
We were served by Bilal who was very friendly and helpful in explaining and suggesting the menu items for our dietary requirements. We wanted Vegetarian Food and the Set Menu suited us perfectly fine. The items came very quickly and the food was delicious. You should try their Bibimap and Fried Rice which were so good !
Absolutely not a nice experience. We me and the husband! went on a date night. Upon arrival we were told we'd have 90 minutes from booking time, to dine. That really made me feel uneasy! And uncomfortable! I don't go to a restaurant to be told to my face, there's a timer on my visit! So we were seated, and it took 15 minutes TO GET someone's attention to place our order with the clock ticking, maybe have a hastier service?!. They brought our starters, and straight away brought our mains! Yes! They were doing this with all customers. That truly takes the biscuit! Scores top marks for poorest attention to detail and service quality! So our table had all our starters, and mains sat there to get cold! I was appalled! Not to mention, it added to my anxiety of feeling so rushed! Felt like a drive through dine in!!! And at this point I became really annoyed inside, but didn't want to ruin my husband's efforts of the plans for me! Also, ALL food arriving within 5 - 10 minutes... it's a no brainer some of the dishes are pre prepped and reheated! An absolute con! I decided to eat at my pace! Food quality was actually poor. Sloppy presentation, and zero attention to detail. Starters were huge portions, which reflected cost price of dishes, compared to price tag! We ordered the sweet potatoe starter a very budget starter in terms of cost price. Looked and tasted like cheap street food. Was edible, but not something I'd expect at a restaurant. Slices of potato in a crispy prawn cracker tasting coating. Toppokki was a very bad tasting dish, with weird tasting bits, and slithers of what tasted like seafood thick skin! Korean fried chicken was lacking our flavour choice of honey. Could tell from the colour of the chicken, oil needed changing. Greasy and dark. Mains: Kalbi with rice. We actually loved this dish in flavour and the tenderness of the beef. Was succulent melt in the mouth type of tender, but meat fat ratio was disgusting! Had chunks of visible fat! Almost 30% fat! Yaki soba with chicken. A very lacklustre dish! With tiny bits of overcooked chicken! Service during dining was non existent. Tried to get attention of waitress serving next table. She couldn't have made it anymore obvious she was avoiding eye contact, to not have to add to her workload. I don't blame her. Judging from the owners disgraceful responses on here, I'm not surprised he has employed cheap overworked young labour! The best part of my evening was my amazing company. I would not recommend this place in the slightest. Not worth the money at all! We asked to have service charge removed! Not the type to feel obliged to pay! Happily pay for great service! Not this place! Considering Korean food is the up and coming popular cuisine, I was eager to try, but am hopeful my less than satisfactory experience here, is not a true reflection of Korean food! Ps. In response to a possible embarrassing, appalling response from the owner; maybe try a more customer friendly approach. Your attitude on here is shockingly terrible, and also toddler trantrum like! Your food and service are already putting an expiration date ;- on your business no doubt! Your terrible attitude is accelerating the speed to it!
We booked beforehand as it was a meal to break our fast with. Seated immediately on entry. Fast service. Food was served hot and fresh. Staff were friendly and professional. All food is halal. No alcohol.
