Really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. There is so much selection on the menu that it makes it very difficult to know what to pick. I wish I opted for the jerk vegan chicken which my girlfriend had. Really liked the spicy flavours which gave the food a real kick. I tried the vegan brekkie which was also really delicious and full of lots of bright colours. I especially liked the vegan sausage. If you're a vegan or not visit box park and give this place a try. We will be back.
I’m not going to over complicate this review. It’s a MUST visit! Regardless of you’re dietary requirements, the food here bangs, it’s fresh, tasty and healthy for you! Also the staff are super friendly, the beer is locally brewed and the dining environment is rad!
The food is amazing and hats off to the wonderful people in the kitchen. ‘The Jerk’ with vegan chicken is simply one of the best rice dishes ever. The rest of the dishes are also great with great variety and freshly and perfectly cooked vegetables. However the staff have are always miserable and often rude. The location is under a bridge and the decor is dark and angry with angry music. To be honest the food is so good that it really doesn’t fit in with the whole image that. Also it’s a bit pricey £10 for a dish but it is worth it. Would I go again. Yes.
I've been to CookDaily several times and the food has always been great. The menu is displayed on the walls and there is an eclectic mix of dishes but the majority are south-east asian. The main negative is that the restaurant is very noisy. The staff shout order numbers so customers to collect their meals; you can hear music from kitchen which competes with the music from Box Park directly outside and finally you have to endure the sounds from Astral Fighter video game machine in the corner of the restaurant. Also the seating is cramped and uncomfortable as the restaurant is small but you can use the bench style seating directly outside in Box Park. For these reasons I prefer to takeaway my meals; the journey back to my office is 40 minutes and my meals are still hot due to packaging they use. The staff aren't particularly friendly, I get the sense that they are too cool to smile. I just go there for the food and expect nothing more than that. Edit: The menu has changed and I'm no longer a fan so I'm changing my review from 4 stars to 3 stars.
Great food and music! Thanks for making it easy to eat vegan! Minus one star because of all the unnecessary waste... Really no need for plastic forks etc.
Finally dropped down to have a meal at this place. One of the coolest places I have been. Hidden around Hackney's, this is definitively one of the best food/chill experiences you can have. The place looks dope from the inside with all the menu's choices layed on the walls, there's some artwork as well, while the outside is big open space with tables. The food is beyond incredible! Unreal taste! In the picture is a so called "Jerk Bowl" stir-fry veggies, tofu, rice and some vegan chicken topped with some fresh salad and sesame all covered in a spicy sauce. It's a no brainer for any food lover out there
Believe the hype! Outstanding vegan restaurant. I've tried every single bowl and they are all delicious . If you are vegan, this is the best spot in London. Even my non-vegan friends love it : Update: New location in London Fields New location and still world class vegan food. The best vegan food you will ever eat! Teriaki bites are a must.
The Jerk Bowl is like a little peace of Heaven! Have had this regularly and taste is always consistent, vegetables cooked al dente, vegan chicken soaks up the sauce. My favourite take away!
The dish I got is called the high grade. Perhaps it's because I eat a fruit based raw vegan diet and have a highly sensitive palate but it was WAY TOO SAUCY. My rice and quinoa was drowning in sauce it was like a soup. The taste blended together and there were no distinct flavors except that of the sauce, the veggies lost all their pizzazz. It was too salty for me, nothing special really. Was looking forward to a cooked meal and trying King cook but am disappointed. Also the price... oh man. £9? reminds me of all the people riding off the whole 'vegan' wave to make money from health conscious people. I appreciate all the value they bring people but please make it a little bit more accessible, I feel the ingredients don't justify that cost.
Enjoyed the High Grade bowl. Good sweet and smokey flavor. Busy small, all vegan eatery with a variety of options catering to most flavor desires.
