This surgery in my opinion has greatly improved change of doctors and some reception staff. But have kept the good staff. Appointments are easier to get and you don't feel that your being a nuisance like you did with the previous regime keep up the progress
Receptionist very nice,a nurse.and couple of other Drs one of which has left..Dr Thacker was not helpful in many ways. Even though i am eligable for the housing list, Dr Thacker has refused to write a support letter., it is not the policy of the practise to do so. His answer is `the council should ring him `, Council say they don`t ring GPs , so how does on get help!?
I was a patient from birth until I was 19 when I left the practice for good. I honestly couldn't think of a worst doctor. My doctor was Dr thacker not sure if he's there anymore but these are just some of the issues I've encountered. Couldn't diagnose my depression and in their words "just smile more" and "what you depressed for your just a kid". Had a spot problem being a teenager gave me an alcohol liquid which actually burnt like anything and told to come back in 6 months. Went back 6 months later, I said it wasnt working and was just burning my skin. Got told it was working and to come back 6 months later. Sacked off the alcohol stuff and bought some proactive plus 2 weeks later my spots where gone. Had a telephone conversation about my toe, that turned out was a fungal infection, but without even seeing it was adamant that I had "banged my toe" I hadn't. Bought some fungal infection treatment 1 week later the toe had gotten better. Went with a back problem 12 months of its a UTI its a kidney infection went to the hospital to be diagnosed as "drinking too much water" had a white blood cell count in my urine of 745. Which aparantly the normal amount is 20. Also had given me high doses of pain killers to just mask the pain in which they claimed was due to "crushed kidneys". Turns out my back issues was due to a crooked spine and I'm now seeing a chiropractor after no doctor could actually deal with it. I've been to about 4 different doctors . I've currently had 5 sessions with my chiropractor and I can actually no walk more than 10 minutes without being in constant pain. There are many more issues, but these are the ones that stick the most, also I could rarely see my actual assigned doctor and was just sent to any random person who couldn't diagnose anything.
I have been a patient her for 30 years! The receptionists have ALWAYS been rude but the doctors used to make up for it through their care. New GP is incompetent, uncompassionate, lazy, forgetful. Always sending out incorrect prescription...my pharmacist sends the prescription back 3 times and a phone call from me. Unprofessional, inconsiderate at the least
Just had a blood test, no waiting around and very efficient. The Nurse and lady behind reception were lovely. Also, the disabled toilet was spotless. Keep up the good work guys! x
I have been with this surgery since I was born 44 years ago and never had an issues. Until today. I had an appointment at 8.30. Turned up early as usual and they let me in the building. I had done a lateral flow test prior to going that was negative. The nurse came and and said they couldn't see me as my pcr test that I did on Thursday has come back as abnormal. Which apparently means positive. I rang my work to double check and they said it came back as they couldn't read it properly. My mum went for a check up an hour later and they told my mum I was positive im sure this is classed as a breach of patient confidentiality. Im absolutely disgusted with this. I will be changing doctors.
Shocking treatment in 2017 of my partner who subsequently died. They gave out morphine to my partner who had chronic depression. She was in pain but she was given a bottle of morphine by GP on advice of Palliative Care Team. No risk assessment by GP and morphine was swug down by her shortly after receiving it. Such an irresponsible action by them to give a person with chronic depression lethal means to end her life. As a consequence of her dying suddenly she lost her life and my life was turned upside down. The disgusting heartless nurse is left to carry on . The nurse who recommended morphine without any risk assessment is left to carry on.The GP also to blame but the Palliative Nurse a danger and she turned my life and partners upside down The people of Bury deserve better and please stay away from heartless and arrogant nurses and doctors ., that is those who give morphine out like it was toffees. I hope that Bury Palliative Care Team under a new trust will have risk assessments in place for vulnerable clients. But please be aware that they are not necessarily on the side of the patient, client and family. The arrogant heartless nurse who came to our house and prescribed morphine , week later my partner would go into a COMA. I have heard new doctors there so hoping for change.
This has to be the best doctors surgery I have ever been with . Having just moved home I was worried I would have to leave . I emailed the surgery and I am being kept on a great relief to me . I have seen all the doctors here at sometime and they are all great. I really would not want to be anywhere else .
I tried to register myself and my partner with this practice and after having not heard anything for well over a month I went in to be told I wasn't registered and they had no idea where my details were. The lady on the desk was disengaged and not helpful when I asked the obvious questions 'where are my details' 'how long will it take to re-register' and responded with 'the doctor is on her lunch come back after 1:30'. That was more than enough to put me off trusting this practice.
I have been with this practice for over forty years and have always found all the staff very helpful nothing too much trouble, always helpful and pleasant well done all the team.
