This place is huge. There's walking paths, bike routes, some mixed paths be careful. Disabled access is very good. There's a fully concreted path through part of the woods. A very nice walk too. Great place for the dogs to have a run around too. Remember to clean up after them as thus is what will get it stopped. Be responsible for your pet. Toilet and showers available. Showers are token only which has to be bought from the shop. The little cafe is reasonably priced and nice. Staff were very helpful. Parking charges apply I paid £4 for the day which is good value. Motorhomes can stay but not overnight the parking charges are a little higher but still a good price
Lovely place to visit and food nice and reasonably priced. A nice centre with good amenities and a great base for some beautiful walks.
This review relates mostly to my experience with the bike shop and the mountain bike trails. Firstly the bike shop is seriously well stocked with everything that you could possibly need for a day or on the trails, including in my case a charging cable for the Bosch battery on my e bike. The staff could not have been more helpful. The trails are simply awesome. I combined the red and black routes for a distance of approximately 19 miles most of which is single track. As a solo rider a better mobile signal would have been welcome as for much of this remote ride I was out of range of a descent signal which could have been a problem if something had gone wrong. Watch out for the granite slabs on the Black route. Black in Scotland really does mean black!
I found this beauty spot by chance while searching for somewhere to visit as the weather was superp. Free disabled parking which is very kind and considerate of them. It's only a short drive from the main road and the staff is friendly. We had a meal there and it was gorgeous! The Haggis & cheese toasty went down a treat. It's definitely worth visiting as they have several walks and cycle paths and also a short walk that is accessible for disabled people. I definitely plan on coming in the summertime to experience the dark skies.
This centre is so well equipped. We weren't cycling but we went on a walk with 1yr old in carrier 6 yr old walking. The paths and sign post are clear. There were people about but it wasn't crowded. Café wasn't too busy, lots of choice although we had brought a picnic. The children played in the playground and we sat on picnic benches. Parking was reasonably priced and there were plenty of spaces.
Excellent place loads of trails to walk or cycle toilets, Cafe truly a beautiful place.
Have visited here twice on trips to Scotland. The walks are well signposted and take you through stunning woodland. There is also a red squirrel hide. The cafe is large, well maintained and offers lots of options.
Great place and very happy we saw our first red squirrel.
Stayed in the carpark in our motorhome as part of the forestry commission stay for the night scheme,. Amazing place and a fantastic cafe in the visitor center, after a day hiking in the area and a peaceful night's sleep in the dark park zone we got up and went for a cracking cooked breakfast by Mo and co. The area is stunning with some top mountain bike tracks. Well worth a visit. Facilities and toilets were imaculate.
Came here with my husband, son and rescue dog whilst staying in Girvan. Lovely place to visit with stunning scenery and views. We also ate in the cafe which was lovely.
