Glentrool Visitor Centre
"This is a tranquil spot at the heart of the forest. Unwind in the café and watch woodland birds busy on the feeders or discover the lively waters that meet at stunning Loch Trool on scenic trails beneath the mighty Merrick. This area's history is also written into the landscape – look out for Bruce's Stone nearby, overlooking the Battle of Glen Trool in 1307, and a moving monument to 17th century covenanters, slain for their religious beliefs.Glentrool is also one of the world-famous 7stanes mountain bike trail centres, with a range of trails for novice and experienced riders."

We really enjoyed our walk here today with our dog. The trails were very well maintained and marked. Lots of useful information about the wildlife and the local history. The visitor centre had a good menu of sandwiches and snacks and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Plenty of parking space and fees not too expensive, £2 for 3 hours. Plenty of walking trails of varying difficulties and lengths.nnThe visitors centre has a cafe with a range of food available from toasties to jacket potatoes and scones and cakes.nnLimited seating inside and it can get busy, but picnic benches outside by the river on good days.nnStaff friendly and helpful.
Small cafe at visitor centre that serves lovely food. We opted for potato and leek soup which came with warm baguette. Two homemade scones to take away. Great wks through forest from carpark. Well posted. Carpark is change or via RingGo parking app. Well worth a visit.
Small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Good range of lunch options and cakes n coffee. We had Leek n potato soup which came with half a baguette. Really nice and for a fiver, was good value. There was a small shelf area with a good variety of merchandise and local maps at affordable prices. Located close to a car park and river and local walks and mountain bike trails. You'll need coins for the car park.
Lovely place plenty of parking nice Cafe plenty of trails to explore. Loch trool beautiful place.
