I've played this course countless times over past 30 years, when the wind is up, its a great test of golf.
The course was in fantastic condition, greens are fast but consistent, a cracking course, a real test as narrow in places. I would highly recommend this course. It's in a great location on the Ards Peninsula.
Excellent greens for November. Disappointed you had to drop the ball of the fairway into the rough even though the fairways were dry and better than most other clubs. Pity they dont make the second a feature hole. It needs the whins tidied up as most people will be hitting a long iron in for their second shot. The stone tower and a good tidy up would make this hole memorable for the right reasons.
Wonderful gem of a links course in County Ulster. Plays around, on and from two large Beren mounds. Short walks from greens to tee boxes. Fast fairways and greens, sand traps in good condition, tough but fair. Views of castles, countryside and Irish sea. Great folks in pro shop and clubhouse. It was worth the drive from Newcastle. Take the ferry, particularly if the weathers reasonable.
Great round - great condition - will be back in the summer.
Played it today for the first time, can't wait to play it again, very impressive course.....
Perfect conditions and well maintained course nothing but praise for green staff and house staff. I attended this golf club today - 24/11/22. The condition of the course was superb greens excellent considering the rain that fell a few hours before. Re food and drink I totally recommend. Staff are fantastic, polite and attentive. Not only deserves a visit for their food. Worth the trip
Good honest food with a varied menu changes weekly on 4 week rotation. The brie cheese and raspberry sauce is very nice indeed. Mains are always hot and great value. Sit overlooking the green watching the golfers. Only thing I can say is the service is a bit slow but nice food. I have been there many times and would recommend the food and golf club
Very difficult, typical links course, rough very tough. Could do with better signage between greens and next tee. However greens and tees excellent, Clubhouse and all the staff very nice and welcoming. Couldn't ask for much more. Thank you.
Nice friendly place to visit and play golf. Some lovely links holes, a couple of real tough holes 10 &12 if wind is blowing in wrong direction!!! Elevated greens get a little bit monotonous on back 9 but all in all a golf course that should be experienced! 1st hole is out of action due to legal wranglings with residents adjacent, but don’t let that put you off. Clubhouse was very busy on Sunday afternoon so after 45 min of waiting for a waitress we decided to eat elsewhere, the only disappointment really.
