Lovely theatre, great show but unfortunately couldn't see the outside of the building as covered in scaffolding! Went to see A Night at the Musicals which was well going to watch. They all had amazing voices and Edward Reid was so funny too!
We went to watch chitty chitty bang bang with our children. The performance was great and the staff at the theatre were very friendly and helpful. The age of the theatre makes it a more interesting place to visit, albeit with some slightly less well thought out parts such and the very narrow upstairs bar with only a few seats. The upper circle is very steep and probably not suitable for those who are either not good with heights or have mobility issues the stairs are very very steep and I watched quite a few people stumble up and down them. Overall though, it was a great experience and even with the less visitor friendly layout and access, I would definitely go back.
Come From Away at the King's Theatre, Glasgow A restorative story to fill your soul A heartwarming tale of humanity:The musical masterfully captures the resilience and kindness of strangers during a time of crisis Stellar performances The talented cast delivers powerful and emotionally resonant performances. Engaging storytelling:The intimate and immersive storytelling draws the audience in from the beginning. Inspiring message: The show's uplifting message of hope and unity leaves a lasting impression. Overall, Come From Away is a must-see for anyone who appreciates powerful storytelling and inspiring human connections. It's a truly unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling uplifted and inspired.
Beautiful theatre, you can often find some good tickets for a good price. Great excuse for a night out. Close to public transport, and allows you to bring your own food and drink no alcohol.
Expensive tickets, snacks and drinks were extortionate and very very uncomfortable seating in the Grand Circle. Not worth going to until they update seating to 21st century at very least. I understand that this is an old historic building but with the amount of money you pay out on a night out, you world expect much better facilities. I now remember why I don't go to the a King's Theatre anymore. If you do go, be prepared to spend lots of money and be uncomfortable.
Had an amazing time here seeing jesus Christ superstar, great seats we where row 2 seats 12/13/14/15 it was a fantastic time. My only thing was no one checked our tickets I literally walked in found my own seats and sat down without talking to anyone which I thought was odd but I suppose if it was sold out you'd notice someone having to stand lol.
Been a few times this year and enjoyed every visit. Staff very helpful. Will definitely be back!
Went to a musical. Only tickets available were nearly at the back of the gallery 3 levels up Show was very good but the sound was poor and we missed a lot of the dialogue. There were speakers up there but couldn't hear anything coming through them. Also, the large spotlights were behind us with very noisy fans every time the lights were on which made it even harder to hear. Disappointing when we'd travelled a distance and tickets were not cheap
Fabulous place. Great sound. Just be warned it gets really warm! Great theatre.
I prefer The Kings to Theatre Royal in Glasgow. The King's has better seating and is better set out in my opinion. Saw 'Come From Away' last night, one of the best stage shows I've ever seen. It worked really well in the Kings Theatre.
