Food was horrible! Beer was warm..... I had a chicken dinner, asked for no cabbage, it came with cabbage. Told them I didn't order it with that, took it back. Came back told me there was a problem, bought it back out looked brill. Everything was cold apart from the chicken. I then find something in my potatoes, which were very hard advertised as roast potatoes they were new potatoes cut in half and boiled! And a massive lump fell out the bottom of the kept warm gravy, that's advertised as a jug and i think ive had more liquid in measure of double southern comfort than this JUG had in it! Definitely not be returning
I had the carvery which is available on Sundays from 12pm to around 4 pm.. it's £9.99.. and excellent value.. there's a choice of three meats, Yorkshire pudding and a wide variety of vegetables and roast potatoes, layonnaise , dourphinose potatoes. Cauliflower cheese. Macaroni cheese. Parsnips carrots peas stuffing and gravy.. it's very good value for money.
Nice visit as always. Sunday carvery was good standard particularly enjoyed the mash, carrots and parsnips. After eight sundae was a real treat. Staff busy but polite and attentive as usual.Food: 5/5
Booked a table for 1pm, notice on door said short staffed. Took order at 1.10pm and told 40 min wait, may be shorter. Hence 1 star for honesty. 2pm asked a male member of staff if order coming he returned saying maybe another 10 min but not sure seemed to find it all amusing! 2.15pm no food, asked another member of staff who returned saying not sure. The majority of staff really worked hard in very difficult circumstances, but our party did not find it amusing. No comment on food as requested and given a refund, which was dealt with quickly.
Just been for dinner. Over 1 hour waiting for food that came out warm, not hot. Got told that they're understaffed which is why the service was slow and poor. Not my problem. £40 wasted. Me and the family won't be coming back. Plus another annoying point. The WiFi doesn't work. Not ideal when there's no phone signal in the area.
Welcoming and attentive staff. Great value and good quality food. Had a turkey dinner and Christmas pudding from the Christmas menu. Really impressed. Looking forward to returning!
Cheap and cheerful, the 2 for 9.49 can't go wrong, always decent food coming out the kitchen, I'm aware some of it is pre-made as Doncaster Brewers told us. But this place it's always really good. Staff are always polite and happy Will always continue going
Went here tonight for a birthday staff were ok and service was fine, however the food wasn't great for the price, burger and chicken was very dry, chicken dinner was terrible as the roast potatoes were like rocks, on the plus side the chips were nice and pudding was nice also but expensive, also the portions were small, out of ten of us 6 didn't enjoy the meal. I'd maybe give it another chance as chef might of had an off day but won't rush back.
Came with my sister for lunchtime meal. Lucky we had booked they were really busy. We decided to have lunchtime special which is 2 for £9.49, jacket potato with chilli and smothered chicken. Obviously portions were smaller, but still filling. The staff were helpful explaining there might be a short wait as they had a large party in. Probably 10- 15 mins not that long really, food was well cooked and presented. On the whole it was nice to meet up with my sister and have a lovely relaxed meal I hadn't had to cook myself.
7 of us ate here this evening, and despite us having made a mistake with our booking, we were greeted in a friendly manner and served promptly. All the meals were very good. Very impressed, thank you.
