A general secondhand and antiquarian bookshop with a bindery for the shop's use (we dont take binding work in as we have enough work to last us a lifetime). Open all weekends and almost all weekdays except occasional midweek days. We live over the shop, and have an extensive bookshop garden with bees and chickens.

Called in here on a long trip across Scotland, what a wonderful bookshop - I wish we could have stayed longer and browsed the shelves more thoroughly. Books were reasonably priced and included some interesting bargains. It was fascinating to see a glimpse into the bookbinding workroom, the work is done to a very high standard. I will certainly pay a longer visit next time we’re up this way.

This bookshop has a good selection for a small place, ranging across genres and subject areas, with very reasonable prices for the books I ended up buying. I'd have liked more time browsing.

I recently visited this book shop and met Mr King, I think that is his name. The shop is what you would expect to find and for a very long time to come I hope, the owner was very interesting and full of useful knowledge which he shared fully in a very open way, he gave me pointers in using leather and gave me some strong thread for stitching ( very much appreciated) . I find the comments made by someone on this site offering her opinion,quite offensive and unnecessary, if you can't say anything nice or constructive maybe it's better to keep your opinion to yourself or share it with your other perfect friends, assuming you have any, I have found that empty drums often make the most noise! Shame on you. Proud of our varied culture and people within Scotland, we are after all, all Jock Tamsons bairns. Regards and best wishes to the owners of King's

The owners here are a lovely couple and any time you visit the shop you can easily see just how much they know their stuff.
