Very stunning chapel! Second largest in Europe after the Sistine chapel. It was about $20 to wander through the grounds, which really isn’t great value for maybe 10 mins of walking around but if you’re traveling around Cambridge you may as well see one of the most iconic parts of it.
This is worth the price but it is steep considering you cannot see inside the grounds of the university.nnThat said, I did attend when there was an evening service and choir. It was wonderful. If you have this option, do it. There are limited tickets so go early and stand in line.nnThe sunset, when we exited, was SPECTACULAR! I was there in mid-September.
King’s College Chapel was beautiful. We loved our visit. The big details we were looking for and found were the “RA” carvings for Regina Anne for Anne Boleyn.nnFor anyone who loves the history of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, this is 100% a gorgeous chapel to visit.nnWe bought our entry tickets, across the street, a few minutes before we visited.
Gorgeous chapel with amazing arches and detailed craftsmanship. Sunlight streaming through the stained glass was beautiful. A lovely section showing the history of the space as well. Went on a Sunday morning and there was no wait/not very crowded.
Indeed a very very special place. We were lucky that a former student has shown us this area. With all the details and historical parts of the Kings college chapel.nAll these details are so special that you need to take the time to observe all the details of this chapel.nThe colors, the building architecture in relation with the stories is amazing. You can easily enter this chapel via the main entrance of the Kings College.nnPlease do vist the total area which is amazing and combine this visit with the other College areas in Caimbridge.
