Tacos and burritos are alright.... but the quesadillas are amazing! Shame they removed churros from their menu. :
Really dissapointing. Burrito was a decent enough size but £8 seems incredibly steep as it's mainly stuffed full of cabbage and very little else. It was so vinegary me and the colleague I went with couldn't finish and felt very sick afterwards. The vibe in there is quite nice but there is cheaper and more authentic Mexican style food to get from around Portobello. It's a shame as I really wanted to love this place so I could come with colleagues every lunch but I won't be returning.
We planned on going to the Shepherds Bush branch for ages but when we heard a new one had opened on Portobello we decided to try this one instead to coincide with a night out in Notting Hill. So glad we did. It's a tiny place, but wasn't busy on a Saturday night. The menu is very simple but everything we had was delicious - I opted for the aubergine tacos and the squid tacos and my husband tried the beef quesadilla. We also had chips and 2 beers. Everything was beautifully cooked, and presented in a fun 'street food' kind of way. Portions aren't huge so I definitely recommend getting a load of things and sharing - prices are very reasonable so you can do this without breaking the bank! Our waitress was friendly and just the right level of attentive. Will definitely be coming back here for lunch!
I hardly ever write reviews unless a place is outstanding or horrendous & this was not good. The food took ages to come out, despite there only being 3 tables with people on. When the food did come to the table the guacamole & chips was not what you could call guacamole, but simply mashed avocado with no other ingredients. The cheese quesadilla tasted like the cheese came out of a tube and the cheese steak tacos were incredibly strange, with no apparent cheese the waitress said the steak was dipped in cheese, but we couldn’t taste it & these steak tacos came with chips inside the taco, which I wasn’t a fan of. On the plus side the waitress was very nice & my husband said the cheeseburger tacos weren’t as bad as the rest. Sadly I won’t be returning. I love Mexican food & eat it everywhere I go, but this was bad Mexican food. Perhaps it’s ok if you haven’t ever had good Mexican
So Sorry but this Place was Terrible Ate here and the food was not good at all. I am sorry to write this as I usually write positive reviews but our kids didn’t eat anything other than simple cheese quesadillas and we ended up doing the same without Salsa as even that wasn’t great. We did order a Pork burrito and felt the pork was a bit off. Then the peppered squid taco was fishy which cooked squid usually isn’t. Then the chicken taco was bad / cheap Chicken bits and stale French fries inside the Taco. We live next door so it hurts me to write this but it’s just not a good place. Will go back to the much further Taco place in Notting Hill which is actually great and consistently so.
Conceptually great but don’t do the bottomless deal This is a very small little restaurant that certainly has a great concept, yay tacos! Unfortunately we decided to go for the bottomless offer for a friend’s leaving lunch. We had to wait for our table but that isn’t so bad as the place is small so it’s understandable. What was more at odds with the cool venue and concept was the very terse manager. Once seated the service was very slow, and we had keep asking for a lot of things, it certainly felt like far from bottomless and we were almost made to feel rude in asking for more. The cheeseburger tacos were the star but others like the aubergine and the squid were very underwhelming and the corn tacos themselves were very pappy with an overpowering favour that really detracted rather than complimented the filling. Needless to say however if the service had been better it would have been easier to be positive. I did email the venue about this afterwards before posting on here, where the manager stated that he had purposely slowed down our service which would have been understandable if we had had 10 glasses of prosecco in an hour and caused a rupus but we did not, it was a civilised meal for a group of friends with no intention of taking the mickey in terms of the offering. He tried to use his licence rules as an explanation but considering the wealth of bottomless offers that there are today in London and the situation, then this was certainly not the reason. On explaining why in terms of the food, he tried to use the amount that it would have cost if we had paid cost price for everything. I am afraid that if you offer a bottomless deal then there are going to be those that overspend and those that underspend, the fact that roughly 70% is profit and this can be used as a loss leader just to get people in through the door to gain a good client base certainly means that you can’t do a ‘bottomless but with restricted service’. I was very disappointed with their response overall, such a shame for a restaurant that had such a good concept and I was really excited to visit.
Delicious. Really great choice of vegetarian options as well, which I always appreciate. I had the butternut squash and coconut tostada, who would have thought that would work so well?! A little too much oil, but otherwise 10/10 especially the sweet&spicy salsa. Good cocktails too, one of the best cheap mojitos I have had outside of Spain
Pretty poor. Particularly the one waitress for the whole restaurant who was also making the cocktails at the same time. The burritos were like Subway sandwiches and quite frankly £40 for two Subway sandwiches and two cocktails low grade, starter bar-person standard...odd tasting sour juice with a drop of alcohol was about £20 too much for that meagre effort
Great taco's, they just need a bit of refinement and balancing of flavors to get 5*, was there for the soft launch though so might improve. Burrito was spot on, full of fresh flavor and not just full of beans and rice.
This place is amazing. Unbelievable guacamole and salsa, cheeseburger tacos are the best. Great drinks and the staff are super helpful and nice. Must go and try!!!
