With my disability and the problem I had, I needed to talk to someone about the problem, after a fumbling first step not he call line. And me having to make a complaint, Dartford's staff went Beyond what was asked of them, and helped me any way they could, and then some. I am grateful they was able to treat me as a human and help me, to solve the problem with them and me. Keep going on this line and get better, so the call handlers are able to not make someone make a complaint is my only point to improve.
15 years of service as a taxi driver. Always paying and sorting out all my formalities with council and other bodies on time, in professional manner, politely, as it should be. When it came to surrendering my licence due to profession change and getting my licence deposit back, it took me around 6 months to sort it out, countless emails to different people, countless phone calls, messages etc. It looked as if council officers were deliberately trying to ignore my communications, requests and even complaints in order to avoid paying deposit back. Sending me from one person to another and than seizing communication. Thank you DBC. "If only all councils were like Dartford" - than we all would be victims of dodgy practices and we all would regret being good, honest citizens.
BE CAREFUL WHEN PARKING IN DARTFORD they keep moving the parking bays from loading to parking and vice versa - the bays are not clear they put a pole up and one side of the pole you can park with Ringo payment and the other side is loading only where you cannot park and all they are putting there is just a line on the floor nothing to say loading bay so it is not clear, if you park there then you get a parking ticket - if this is the way Dartford Borough Council are making money it is disgusting. I challenged my parking fine and I sent them photographic evidence too but they are saying I had the front wheels over the line but what a surprise the loading bay sign was moved 3 days after my fine - no wonder Dartford are losing the public attendance. I wonder if we can make a claim to them for all the pot holes that are damaging our cars in Dartford I suppose they will make another excuse for that!
2 weeks to respond to a PCN appeal and I still got nothing back... What's the point of providing that option if you can't even process it? You're quick to give someone a penalty for 5 minutes of parking on a prohibited space my bad in the end, but then everything else takes forever? Shambolic.
Posting on behalf of my disabled friend: There is something special about councils - they all are in a race to be worse than others. I think I can go on talking about craps they do all day and how incompetent they are even when very basic things come in mind. They have been asking me to pay council tax and other bill which are already paid and there is direct debit set up. They have been emailed with all proof but they said 'I could ignore the letters'!
PARKING... Why is it impossible to determine the parking restrictions on particular roads/car parks.... I want to find the information before travelling & attempting to park. Need an interactive map updated.... in particular bank holiday conditions?
Refuse hasn't been collected for 3 weeks and recycling which is every other week also hasn't been collected - although their website says both bins have been collected. I now have maggots crawling out of my refuse bin and onto my driveway. Pile of sh1t council who don't seem to care if you have a problem or not
Almost every week I am complaining to the council that one or other of my bins has been missed. As I am disabled they are supposed to collect from my drive. This week it is my garden waste bin which has not been collected for 4 weeks now, and which I am paying for. I have just been told that they will be back by the end of tomorrow, this is to do what they should have done this morning and which service I am paying for. They are too lazy to walk up my drive to collect the bin or it might make them late for their tea break. Jean Radford
We pay over £200 a month in council Tax, and experience 2 missed bin collections, even when the bin is put out the night before! To top things off the customer service rep doesn't at all seem that bothered, and was in no particular hurry to get arrange for someone to collect it. Then when I raised objection to request a for a manager, no one was available to take my call or even be bothered to call me back, so I've decided to raise an invoice for £200 as they have failed to provide a basic service.
Extremely useless and terribly incompetent. Very careless with people’s lives! If there is a lower stat, I would leave it
