MY GREAT UNCLE GEORGE LIVED AT FIVE HAZEL ROAD FOR SO LONG AND THIS WEEK HE DIED I TRUST THE MAYOR OF THE DARTFORD BOROUGH TAKES TIME TO REST MY GREAT UNCLE GEORGE ROBERTSONS BONES GRACEFULLY IN A DEEP GRAVE COMPLETE WITH ALL OF THE HISTORY OF MY HOME TOWN , CAN YOU? MY UNCLE GEORGE WAS 97 YEARS OLD AND IS THE OLDEST LIVING SIBLING OF MY MOTHERS FATHER , PLEASE LET HIS BONES REST IN PEACE AND MAY BE PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL AS A RESULT OF THIS GREAT MAN

What a lot of people turned out for the Dartford Festival this weekend. I would like to say I enjoyed it, and some of it I did, BUT there are too many corporate people. I know these pay a substantial pitch fee and this is obviously a good thing for the council. The trouble is they are not very interesting to the visiting public. I stood and watched people just walking past them. I was unable to find the craft tent on Saturday and decided that there wasn't any especially as I had NOT received an entrance programme myself. On Sunday I managed to see the lady who has run the craft tent the last few years and asked her why there wasn't one, she said she had been bombarded all weekend by people asking her that very same question, she told me there was one and where it was, the trouble was only a handful of people knew to look on the councils website for the information. Therefore thare were hardly any entries for any of the competitions. My grandsons were disappointed not to be able to put in any of their crafts this year as they knew nothing about it. When I did find the tent I could understand why I had'nt been able to find it the day before, it was hidden from view....only the people who actually took their children into the parks play area would ever have found it. I did enjoy the talk in the fuscia tent by Tom Hartdyke interesting. I enjoyed the Britains got talent area aswell as the childrens performances in the dance arena. "Well done" in some areas and "Could do better" in others
