Well worth for what you pay, would recommend. The staff are great, smiles and the duty manager is very professional litterally saw them in the morning then again in evening working a long shift and still had a big smile! The decor is very good, its stylish and has a good amount of space so you feel more relaxed. Its a big place, with outdoor and 2 indoor spaces. Toilets are clean spacious and well lit. The food is full of flavour, well presented and a good size. Only thing i would mention is that as its on the main strip for Cardiff there is a lot of noise both outside an in. But its very lively, and you will be looked after.
The 5 starts where for our visit last year, absolutely fantastic evening food , cocktails and service. If I where to mark this year I would give 1 star as we left before being served, 3 4 minutes waiting inside the door, taken to table, 5 minutes or more where asked what drinks we want, we don't know because we don't have a drinks menu, when we did get 1 it was nowhere as good as last year food menu quite poor compared to last year. At this point we left,... we where so looking forward to our evening with you there as we had a fantastic time the year before, but we not to be.
Amazing place, great service and super welcoming. A lovely place to relax in the evening. Really beautiful indoors and outside. Our new favourite place. Consistent high standards and friendly staff. Also excellent prices for good drinks. Will definitely be coming back!
Very beautiful foods and drinks, staffs very good attitude friendly and good communication
The quality is pretty good and the prices aren't too high. Pictured is the Welsh Rarebit, with excellent salsa and lightly mustard cheese my partner who doesn't like mustard loved this!. The black bread doesn't taste strongly like Rye so I would definitely recommend this starter!
Food not up to scratch. Welsh rarebiit was a micro coating of cheesey spread and was tasteless. Chicken pie was mainly pastry and potato. I do better myself. Won't be back. Nice wine list though.
Sad to say it took 40 minutes and a couple of reminders to get someone to take our order, despite not being too busy. An hour later the mains turned up, and the waiter grumbled when we asked where the starters were? Had to go to bar to get cutlery. Pasta was stone cold and obviously cooked 20 minutes before the chicken dish ... very poor, and then a service charge was added. Both tables either side sent food back, so not just us.
Food and drink were excellent. Service was quick and friendly. Gorgeous interior and professional appearance.
Been here a few times and the experience has always been mostly good. Today was a huge disappointment though. Despite being quiet the service was really poor, there didn't seem to be anyone running front of house and the single waitress appeared to have little experience. Despite only being 12.45 we were told when we finally managed to get a menu and order that the fish of the day had run out and there were no chips so we'd have to have roast potatoes. When the food finally came it was not the best, the steak was tough and the inexperienced waitress did not bring a steak knife. Can't imagine what this place is now like when it's busy.
I had high expectations for this restaurant but the service was quite poor we had to attract the waiters attention all the time to be served. I ordered some sea food pasta and I got a liquid soup with spaghetti and mussels floating in it the real recipe is not supposed to be liquid. I had to ask for the excess of liquid to be removed, they literally did that with no apologies. We also tried the gin and it is better in gin and juice just opposite...
