Yesterday I was in this store for our Christmas shopping. I would like to understand, who controls, with what criteria they allow certain things. Me, with 2 children, one by hand, one in a baby carrier. A Doberman dog, without a muzzle, only with a leash, wandering around, next to us and at the cash registers. It was yesterday, Friday morning, super crowded store. Love for animals is admirable, but safety should come first.
Must applaud the customer service we received this afteenoon from an extremely friendly honest and professional lady in the sunglass department that went above and beyond to help us find the correct sizing and explore the different options available to my 14 year old daughter looking for a frame for her prescription glasses.nnIt is for staff like this I have continued to shop with John Lewis for all my home and personal needs throughout the years and choose shopping at a store over the multitude of online options available. She deserves to be commended for her hard work. Again thank you!
Was there to get a Graupera Tagine, there was none on the shelves while online it showed 3 in stock in store in Liverpool. Went to ask a rude assistant at the TVs section guy wearing glasses, he was unwilling to help and insisting if nothing on the shelves means nothing in store thinking customers are stupid.nAsked another assistant a Chinese looking lady, and she straight away went to check the stock and brought one with her.nConclusion, if you ask an assistant and they are rude not willing to help; ask someone else and ask to speak with a manager.nWas very disappointed and the other lady saved the day.nJohn Lewis, train your employees better and make sure they don’t just screw customers over sending them out even though there is in stock what we’re looking to buy!
Apart from the Department Store areas being clean and tidy, I find the restaurant on the top floor to be very good value for money and very professionally run by the staff.nnThey are always friendly and more than happy to help if needed. A great selection of food is available, I highly recommend the breakfast, which you can build yourself from the Buffet style area.nnA great example of a British Department Store!
