Modern store over two floors in a modern retail estate. A smaller store but well stocked with good displays. Store covers most lines but some with limited items covering furniture, electrical goods,  technology, photography, kitchen goods, crockery,  glassware, light fittings,  curtains and toys. No clothing or cosmetics.  Good cafe area serving snacks, light meals and drinks. Good restroom facilities and good disabled   access throughout the store. Helpful staff. Free car parking.

Not as good as a real John Lewis.  Very limited range.  Normally John Lewis staff have a naturally helpful attitude - it doesn't seem forced or pushy, they just take you seriously as a customer.  My impression in the Chester store has so far always been that staff are more comparable to the other shops in the retail park - the experience is more akin to Carpetright than to John Lewis.  The cafe has always been very slow, with many uncleared desks, even when there were hardly any customers around - again, quite unlike my experience in other John Lewis stores.  Chester really should get a proper John Lewis is the city centre!
