I have ordered from jerk shack on 3 seperate occasions now and the food generally tastes nice but the portion sizes are far too small...the £8 large coley fish was tiny. Had I paid for a small portion I would have still complained.. Customer service was not helpful. Will not be ordering from here again. Save your money.
Update - Super slow service of the highest order!!Have seen much softer cardboard and certain cheaper than £4! Tiny amount of chicken for £11.99 comes with nothing except rice. Gave benefit of doubt first visit and gave 5 stars!
It was a lovely experience, the food came out quickly, and was well done. Friendly staff and welcoming business!!! Would recommend to everyone, definitely coming back soon!
Food literally took almost half an hour to be served; after which we were presented with dry rice and beans supposed to be rice and peas, dry cheese and pasta, rubbery plantain and the star of the show a warm rubbery and chewy jerk chicken all for £32 for what I think was all microwaved heated... and nothing freshly cooked. My first and last time there... and was hardly busy as it was only 2 of us in there at 5pm on a Sunday. Favourite Chicken would have been better food, better value and faster service. Not sure what the banging was downstairs... sounded like they were breaking metal boxes... The food was so bad that we didn't even finish it... still went hungry!!! Staff on the other hand was friendly...
Totally disgusting. After waiting over one hour was so disappointed in the food we received. The snapper was tiny and dry and absolutely tasteless as was the rice and pies and dumplings. My husband was also disappointed at the meagre amount of oxtail . The macaroni cheese and chicken wings my son's had were the only consolation as they enjoyed it. I ordered the salad which was not delivered and when I complained they said salad is free and didn't look good so didn't put it in and that they will note my opinion. Not satisfied with that response either so decided to write a review so others will not waste their money. This used to be such a nice place to eat but it has gone totally downhill. Still very hungry and out of pocket
Ordered a large oxtail and rice & peas, and the portion of oxtail was small and full of bones and a few tiny pieces of tail end oxtail. Absolutely meager portions of food. Not enough meat to go with the rice. Don't waste your time nor your money buying from this place. I know, I won't be ordering from here again.
Good flavoursome authentic food served in tradition styled surroundings . Owner Marsha had none of the lackodasical attitude which can sometimes affect some of our black owned businesses. In fact she was exceptional in her service and went out of her way for us. I would highly recommend! We left there at 4pm. It is now after 1am and I am still full! Great portion sizes, for even the hungriest of bellies
Service was good friendly also. The food was awful rice was burnt and the curry goat taste like Gregg's steak slice. Fried dumpling was nice and rum punch is week taste like juice fruity but not strong
Okay so I will be honest. Staff are brilliant, very welcoming, polite etc. Environment is nice, good music in the background and decor is reflective of the carribean. Stewed chicken and rice and peas was delicious. However, fried fish was ridiculously dry, coleslaw was not home made, callalloo was tasteless. Macaroni and cheese was tasty and so was the curry goat. Would eat here again but would only order particular dishes.
I went there with my husband. The staff were very nice. The atmosphere was very nice, warm and friendly. The background music was also nice, not too loud enabling you to have a conversation with the person you're dining with. The food stated delicious and very generous portion sizes too. The decor is nice too. It's a small intimate restaurant offering takeaway and delivery service too. A must place to visit either for takeaway, dine or even just for a drink and very easy to locate.
