We have now had 3 occasions when we have attempted to access help for my 95 year old Dad for a simple task, a call back/ urine form to be filled inetcnOnly advised to call 111, which unfortunately on the first occasion resulted in us waiting so long for a call back we eventually took Dad to urgent treatment centre as he was becoming increasingly confused. Commenced abs.nDad has been having problems with regular UTIs since mid December and at 95 these very quickly cause problems, and need urgent treatment to prevent Dad going off his legs and potentially urinary sepsis.nSurely to prioritise the under 2s and over 90s would be beneficial all round.nIt is only because we are clinicians and have used our initiative and started Abs which we had in hand prescribed for use over Christmas if required at our request that we have prevented more serious illness/ potential death.
Phone lines are awful- was in a car crash on Friday and I wanted to be check over - I was told to call 991 - this is twice now I've tried to get appointment with my own doctors and can't. The people on the phones unhelpful. Its not fair when your in pain.nLets hope its nothing serious
MSK sent Jenner a recommendation for a change of medication to help with my sciatica on Tuesday. I rang Jenner the next day and they said they had it but hadn't had a chance to action it but would in the next couple of days. My wife rang on Friday and was told they had it but it hadn't been actioned.nI rang again later on Friday and was told they'd only just got it that day so hadn't had a chance to action!nAll that's required is a few taps on a keyboard. I don't get it, why lie?nnSo chances are that'll it'll be a week before anything happens. Meanwhile I'm in agony and the GP can't be bothered to sort out something very simple or objects to a non-prescriber suggesting a change in medication.nWhat is the point of GP's?nNurses & physios seem to care and do their jobs.nWhat the GP's do, I do not know.nnUpdate- A week would have been good going. No chance, 6th Jan was the earliest offered, just to change pain killers. Surely it doesn't take that long to do such a simple task. I'd like to complain but dispite appearences, the website gives no clues who the practice manager is or an email address to send a complaint to.nThere's a nice form if you want compliment them but nothing for complaints. The complaints policy says everything apart from the information you actually need to make a complaint.nWhat terrible practice Jenner is.nIf it was not NHS it wouldn't survive.
I have experienced nothing but kindness and support from the Jenner health centre. I called up late last week to speak to a receptionist on the phone and they did everything in their power to help me get an appointment in good time and then yesterday when I popped in for a blood test with the nurse on-site, she was calm, reassuring and informative. This place deserves 5 stars. Thank you, for all that you do for us.
You kind of have to go there and wait in a queue but once you speak to a doctor 9/10 times they are generally nice it’s normally the reception when you try to call you go in and you can see they then chatting in the back and no picking up the phone but the doctors are normally nice as I previously said.
