About

How would you describe your home?

Story

The word Jamon, pronounced “yamon”, means ham in Spanish, and if there is one thing the Spanish are crazy about, it is good Jamon. In Spain, Jamons are traditionally made in local family farmhouses. Each house has its own curing room or camara where the Jamons are hung to mature. Such is the rivalry in these local villages that it is not unknown for at least one family member to be left at home at all times just to guard the Jamons.

But why Jamon Jamon? Well, in Spain, if something is good, then two of it must be superb, and the call Jamon Jamon has come to mean just this in the colloquial Spanish dialect.

To the Spanish, Jamon Jamon speaks of vigour and the passion for life. Not surprisingly then that this was the theme for Bigas Luna’s 1992 film Jamon Jamon about the age-old tale of forbidden love, set in the dusty plains of Spain where the locals dream of hormone-fuelled passion and bull-fighting.

This restaurant is the description of a 3 star location "just OK". The Tapas were not up to the standard we were expecting, the lomo was almost burnt and the huevos rotos were just a fried egg with fries and a piece of ham. The paella was better than the Tapas, enough to turn my 1 into a 3 but they could do much better. The service was not bad , but again was just OK. Perhaps they need to push their level up a bit.
A cozy restaurant and we had a quick grab before leaving for the show. The portions are tiny and the price is in the range of 6 - 10 pounds. Good for a quick lunch or dinner.Food: 3/5
Pre-theatre dinner and was so looking forward to the paella marinera ..but was so disappointed. Nothing like the original Spanish paella at all , a lot of green beans which shouldn’t be in the seafood paella ; the rice was was also too cooked and mushy ,should be more aldente. Also ordered some churros that came before the paella that sat on the table for a good 40min until the main meal was served. Wouldn’t return unfortunately.
Don't waste your money or time here : Nice Tapas bar atmosphere, unfortunately that's the only thing I can praise about this place. First the service is bad, waitress did not inform us that their card machine broke until we finish our order then when we asked her where is the nearest cashpoint she just said "right around the corner literally across the road" and it wasn't there my friend had to walk about 20 minutes. And in that 20 minutes they served our food without caring if she is back or not so when she arrived it was a bit cold. Food portion is small normal for tapas but price is expensive and it wasn't that good. Prawn and pork loin were overcooked and bland. Paella portion is pretty large even for the 1 person size but some of the rice was half cooked. They also don't put enough honey on the grilled goat cheese so it was really meh. We spent £48.60 for 2 people 3 tapas, 1 paella and tap water in CASH Definitely won't bother coming back
I recently visited this charming little restaurant tucked away in the corner. The food was outstanding, especially the chicken and seafood Paella. The ham & cheese dish was simply amazing. However, it was a bit disappointing that they did not serve bread with the meal, and it had to be ordered separately. The staff was a mixed bag - some of them were attentive and provided good service, while others seemed to have difficulty understanding our requests. The overall service was slow, and it took quite a while for our orders to arrive at the table. One issue we encountered was with the restaurant's cups. They had small cracks on the top the cup, and even after requesting a replacement, the new cup also had cracks. It would be beneficial for the restaurant to address this issue. In terms of ambiance, the decoration could use an update as everything seemed a bit worn out and falling apart. This aspect detracted from the overall dining experience. Considering all these factors, I am uncertain if I would choose to dine at this restaurant again. Maybe might go back for Paella and ham & cheese board.
Definitely recommend this place located on a corner on Charing Cross road as u pass by Mcdo on ur way to tkmax tottenham Been here on Monday evening with a friend. The place offers a nice, chill vibe with a traditional decor to escape the high street. We had the following: Berenjenas gratinadas : 5/5, yummmy although I don't eat aubergine but I tasted the sauce its mindblowing Pulpo a la gallega: 3/5, though maybe this is how its meant to be but it lacked smthg maybe a tangy taste Pimientos del padron lovely grilled peppers nice to share as finger food with a drink Ensalada tricolor: 4/5,it is literally straight forward slices of avocado mozzarella and tomatoes, loved the freshness of it to counteract the cooked food but I didnt like the balsamic glaze on top rather have just olice oil. Champinones al ajillo: 5/5, absolutely delicious we had it with garlic olice oil and parsley, its so fulfilling and tasty. Finally Staff are totally lovely, smiley and welcoming with a friendly spirit especially Alejandro.
We popped in for dinner before a show with friends. The food was not great, I have had much better tapas elsewhere. I feel as though the food was imitating Spanish tapas and the quality of food could be better. This restaurant is aimed more at the tourists I think. If you have never had authentic tapas you may enjoy it but if you have something to compare it to it doesn’t really stand up. Would not visit again unfortunately.
Been to this restaurant several times for a pre theatre meal using Groupon vouchers and it's amazing value. Really delicious food, especially both the octopus and steak tapas. Tried the white sangria, it's very nice. Quick and friendly service and food arrived pretty fast. Great location close to many theatres. Nice outside area too, just off the main road but not too noisy.
Amazing lunch at Jamon Jamon. 5 star food and service. I would also like to mention the excellent service I received from Brayan. Amazing restaurant to eat and feel like you are in Spain.Food: 5/5
First time trying some tapas and I sadly it just wasn’t suited to my taste. The croquettes and meatballs were really good but the prawns didn’t have much garlic taste to it. The paella however was to die for! It was so good I couldn’t get enough of it. Would come back just for the paella. Servers were really nice tooFood: 4/5
