Story

Whether you are a single person looking to get fit or you are part of a family looking for somewhere and something to inspire the kids then JAGS Sports Club is the place for you. As the biggest and friendliest, duel use and community led sports club in the South East of London with facilities that are second to none, we have an enviable reputation for providing a superb range of activities in an outstanding, super modern sports complex with membership rates that are the most reasonable in the area – real value for money.

JAGS Sports Club was set up over 25 years ago by Heather Rankine who had the vision of creating a community sports club whose profits went to the bursary fund at JAMES ALLEN’S GIRLS’ School. Back then it was a little free weight gym, a sports hall and a cold and draughty school pool. Since that time we have grown and invested in better facilities yet the ethos and vision of what we stand for has carried forward all this time. This means that every single penny of profit made by the Club gets given back to the community in the form of assisted placement schemes.

If you are a member here then the amount of stuff you can do as part of your membership is life-sized. You could visit the club twice a day for seven days on the trot and still not do the same activity twice. We cater for swimmers, gymers, aerobic and dance addicts, climbers and hitters and all for one price.

Being attending almost 8 years. Love the swimming pool, gym/tennis courts and facilities/class options. Have found all the staff really nice , polite , professional and safe. I use it most often at weekends with my kids/family and during the week great astro/hockey pitch for football. Nice cafe also to chill in. Have meant to write this post for years. Love the pool is open quite later also. Could mentions lots of great staff by names but would run out of text. Genuinely very grateful to be able to attend this great club over the years.

Hi all guys, Today I came here to jags, for a sporting event of my daughter, the structure is well cared for from what I saw when I entered, an electronic gate for the passage of vehicles and a small side path for pedestrians, if go straight on you go to a parking lot near the cafe instead if you turn right immediately you go to another parking lot where there are tennis courts in front of you for training included in the photos. The area looks very well maintained, there is also a swimming pool which I didn't want to take pictures of as there was a competition going on. The cafe is well set out and relaxing. The staff is very professional and accommodating. the impression I got was very good if I get the chance to go back again I will.
I joined with my six year old to take her climbing. It doesn't say what the age requirements are on the website although they run classes for 4-7 year olds so I asked and was told 6+. I brought my daughter to the competency test and filled in a form with her date of birth. Then, I took her climbing and was told to leave the wall because my daughter was too young. The person who told us this "went to check" but I had to go and find them 20 minutes later. I then wrote to the club manager and nobody even acknowledged my complaint. The reason this is a 2 star review rather than a 1 star is that it was easy to cancel my membership and get refunded after this happened.
We have a family membership here, we love it! Great early morning opening hours for my partner and good teen classes for my boys , and brilliant swimming sessions for the whole family including my toddler
The class I attend is good. The reception staff are very unfriendly and aloof, some more than others. It's obvious they prefer to deal with a certain demographic of society.
I want to commend the incredible patience and helpfulness of the booking manager Mo re dealing with my complaint about the booking system for swimming classes. As it turned out I had failed to read the instructions in the email properly about using the message system to state class preferences etc. To her great credit she took me through what I should have done and then kindly placed my son on the waiting list.
Friendly staff, good facilities, professional instructors. However this summer 2021 our 11 years old daughter was quite disappointed with the tennis club. The class was a mix of 6 up to 12 years hence different skills levels resulted in she was disconnected and the time and money was wasted. The very next week she joined the tennis summer camp in Allyn’s that was better age group and the instructors young and superb in engaging kids. I think there is room in developing programs for kids in this centre, hence missing one star.
Been using this gym and I love it, friendly staff and personal coaches, always very clean and well maintained. Can get busy at weekends but this is because they do so many clubs for children. But early or after lunch I have no problems. Would definitely recommend
Good gym and facilities for the membership fee. Climbing wall is great, pool is massive and clean, free weights gym is well equipped very small but also very quiet. Changing facilities look a bit tired but then these guys are not aiming to be David Lloyd :
