Story

Ivy Blu is a contemporary Bridal and Prom boutique located in the Barleylands Craft and Wedding Village between Billericay and Wickford and has a large, bright, modern showroom. We recommend you book an appointment particularly at weekends although we will always endeavor to accommodate if you just walk in.
With a relaxed and friendly atmosphere our experienced and professional consultants will always be ready to assist.

Cannot express how impressed I was with prom dress shopping! From the moment we walked in staff were attentive, helpful, willing to suggest other styles and colours. Really knew what they were talking about. My daughter actually cried when she found “the one”. We came from Kent so not down the road. I would recommend anyone to come here and not find a dress. The quality of fabrics, design and actually seamstress work is second to none. Thank especially to Izzy and Sophie, exceptional attention to detail and made the experience brilliant!

Found the perfect dress here. We had been to many more places, but this was the best for advice and insight on so much more. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Such a great experience for my younger sister. She went in there with an open mind and without an idea of style of prom dress she specifically wanted. The staff gave her some free will at first to have a look at all the dresses and then guided her politely by asking questions regarding how she was feeling with the different dresses until she finally found one she loved. A special thanks to Emily, she was so kind and patient and helped my sister when she was unsure but also gave her enough space to discuss with us and without pressure, all of the staff were attentive and encouraging bringing in different dresses until we slowly narrowed the search. The boutique itself is quite out the way and difficult to find, try and arrive 15-20 mins before you’re booked appointment to have a look around first. The prom dress and bridal sections are kept separate and each dressing room area was lovely.
Bought a prom dress here to the tune of over 500 pounds for which my daughter was measured, it came back massive! But of course their seemstresses can fix it at a cost! Don't bother! I'd have done better buying a dress off the peg, now I've got to find someone to rectify the problem because I won't give Ivy Blu another penny frankly. Two stars because actually the staff were nice and the shop overall is an experience but seriously buys something off the peg.
Fantastic service, variety of dresses and staff. The set-up was lovely with a comfy sofa for my entourage and a huge mirror and plinth to admire what I'd tried on. I was given the opportunity to browse freely which was less intense or pressured. I was also given some suggestions based on what I liked from what I tried on. I felt they weren't interested in the sale but interested in finding me the best dress for me. When I did find THE dress, they checked with the designer to see if it would be ready for my short timeline and managed to work it out for me. I was also given a list of seamstresses for alterations and advised to arrange one sooner than later to ensure my dress would be ready for my big day. They also helped me in finding the perfect veil. I would wholeheartedly recommend IvyBlu to any potential bride!
The ladies at Blue Ivy fit me in last minute today for an appointment which I was very grateful for. The booking system is faulty which led to my ‘event date’ being printed wrong. When notifying the lady it was actually an event much sooner, looks were exchanged between her and some ladies in the staff room rolling their eyes and laughing, this immediately made me uncomfortable in the store and led to very patronising behaviour. The lady helping me try on dresses was very very lovely and helpful. A shame the front of house staff can’t mirror this. As ladies we want to feel comfortable when trying dresses often for a special event on, although this entitled, patronising behaviour at the start of my experience there considering you are paying 10 pounds for an appointment to just try on did the total opposite.
Very disappointed with the service my daughter felt really rushed when trying on the dresses which made her very anxious. This was meant to be a nice experience for her as it was her prom dress shopping 1 in a life time experience which turned out to be a terrible experience. My daughter then got told she could not try one of the dresses she choose as there was not enough time which again was very unprofessional and not great customer service at all. To add to the pressure all the girls that worked in the shop then stood and stared as if to say can you hurry up. Our personal experience customer service is very poor at this shop would not advise to go prom dress shopping it was awful.
