Even giving this company 0 stars is being polite. When they were so called overhauling the houses in my area, such as the doors and windows. The bedroom window was cracked when installing it and have never got back to it and the front door was fitted at a slight angle to the doorframe. When they installed a new kitchen, the people fitting it manged to put a hole in the top right hand corner of the entrance to the kitchen. Luckily they patched it up. And they left sawdust everywhere after they finished. Seriously unprofessional workers. Plus I'm having to deal with a water leak into my kitchen which has cut out the electricity. Not the first time it's happened. Sort your traders out!
Despite the Irwell Valley Propaganda or being a "listening and resident friendly"; My experience over the past 12 years, as a tenant, has been of an organisation that has become more difficult to engage ! In fact, on three occasions over the past 18 months regarding call backs, I received only one out of three: as for either phoning in, or a chat on line, I've been left hanging on, with no information as to length of waiting time. The annoying thing is, when a person gets through, the follow up on whatever the issue, or complaint is fairly prompt.
I moved into a brand new building end of 2021. It was great at the beginning, but the management of the building ruined the experience. The communal areas haven't been cleaned in months since about April-May 2022, the property manager was supposed to call me multiple times, but she never did. The property manager also has been lying about the service being provided, when in fact it wasn't. They didn't even bother to clean it up for Christmas, which caused me me personally a lot of embarrassment and explaining to friends and family. Shockingly bad and embarassing!
Ive had such a negative experience with irwell valley, I honestly couldn't put it in words if I'm being honest. Its got to a point where I feel defeated it makes it worse because my parents are quite old and don't have the energy of always chasing things up with them, so whenever I share my concern with irwell valley they always give me the classic line of you're not able to raise any issue without your name being on the account. I will be sharing some of the photos later today to show you just the utter disgusting state of our kitchen that's been like this for 2years now.
Appalling service and a company who don’t even follow their own complaints procedure. Building in a terrible state and rubbish upto the ceiling because the bins aren’t emptied. Fire alarms don’t work for weeks and they fail to tell the flats involved that they don’t have a working alarm. Didn’t appreciate leaving for work to find 6 fire engines outside the building with no fire alarm going off!
Completely been ignored for several months! I changed my name officially on all my documents irwell valley are so lazy they still not changed it on there system even after I have called them numerous times!
Ive waited dozens of hours on hold, also waiting days for a call back never recieved, this company has driven me out of my mind, and made me feel desperately unhappy im simply trying to resceudle an appointment, that i missed but had spent two days trying to cancel, previous to missed appointment, im exasperated.
Absolutely rubbish housing association. I have been living in a 2 bed flat for almost 10 years they have not fixed no kitchen afternoon it's falling apart, they haven't fixed a broken window which their worker broke. I've had support workers make contact with them they don't response, I've had meetings with housing officer they don't do anything and I've been waiting months. They don't want to fix my boiler after my radiator ain't getting hot, I'm currently pregnant and I have a 4 year old. They are no support at all. I'm paying for a service charge but yet no one cleans the communal block nor cleans the windows. I have added photos of what my kitchen looks like. They have a cheek to do now builds and they ain't fixing up the old ones they have, they keep changing the signs on tye racecourse estate but won't fix up the flats, there is damp my child is sick on Brown inhaler because of it and they don't care. I currently have a housing disrepair solicitor on to it. Worst housing association just taking people's money and not using it well.
0 stars. Irwell Valley are terrible They don't care about the tenants at all. They don't maintain the properties. I pay a service charge and some of that is towards maintaining the communal garden. I've lived here over 2 years and nothing was done. I made complaints but nobody ever gets back to you and finally had to resort to reporting them to the Housing Ombudsmen. They finally sent out a Manager to inspect the garden jungle. They did arrange to have the grass cut and remove some of the weeds, but never cut the hedges. When I questioned about the service charge we had paid for almost 2 years, for nothing. We were offered a staggering £10 refund and wait for it, nobody received a penny to date. I also reported the back gates, they blew open all the time. They sent a joiner and he said they were not fitted properly and said they needed new gates. He rang the office and an appointment was booked for 2 months time. That time came recently, they cancelled via text message. When I rang them to complain I was told he would log it and that somebody would get back to me in a couple of days. You guessed it, silent treatment and no response. They did however text me a further appointment for 2 months time. What a joke. I've got damp problems from the bathroom, that's been on going since I moved in. They offered to paint some sealant on it, but the plumber said it won't last and it was a temporary fix. They bodge most of the repairs, so you end up reporting the same thing again. The previous tenants had dogs which ate most of the door frames inside and out of the house and they refuse to replace them. I was told by the inspector to just fill them. I tried my best to fill them but they look shocking and to add insult to injury they use the fact that I did a house exchange against me. Apparently I viewed the property and basically I should have noticed!! To be honest i found so many faults when i moved in, including leaks from boiler, bathroom, kitchen, radiators. Avoid taking an Irwell Valley property, they are the worst housing association I've ever had to deal with. They just fob you off with poor excuses, that's if your lucky enough to get to speak to a Manager. I feel for the poor call centre handlers, as they probably bare the brunt of frustrated tenants, whilst Irwell Valley are happy to keep taking your rent money and do the very bare minimum in return. Oh i could go on and on. Very bad organisation.
They don't prioritise elderly ppl. Who are vulnerable and leaking ceiling comes down and they can't contact irwell valley.
