Such a nice place to eat out! The food was lovely! Tried lots of new things. Staff were lovely. Definitely the kind of place to go if youre having a date night
We do have a lot of great ones to choose from around here, but this is the undisputed jewel in the crown for Indian restaurants in Bedford! As a lifelong Bedford resident, my first time here was long overdue, but it was certainly worth the wait. The service was excellent, and we caught up with the head waiter and regaled about how the restaurant has managed to survive the pandemic, and long may it continue. The wine selection had been specially selected, and we certainly chose well with the Pierre La Casse merlot from France. I can personally recommend the king prawn butterfly for starters, and the green coriander duck curry cooked medium. It was well-balanced, refreshing and aromatic. The mushroom rice was also well made and used the perfect amount of ghee. Some Indian restaurants make the mistake of drowning the rice in butter, and I was relieved to see that they had not done so this time. You can bet that we'll be back again soon! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options available. Parking: Multiple choices for parking. Nearest pay and display car park is The Broadway car park, which is 20 yards away.
All good. Only my second visit but I will go back. Went with friends on a Thursday night and the place was at least half full. A good sign. Friendly staff and a nice room. The food was excellent. I had a prawn starter and lamb shank main. Very well cooked and all the sides were equally as good. Well worth a visit if this is your thing!Food: 5/5
Mix meat for starter was amazing but my biryani curry was a bit bland and didn’t have any salt. Beautiful atmosphere and great service, I would visit again for sure.
The restaurant looks lovely. The staff seem pleasant enough. Unfortunately wasn't impressed with the food. My food was well over cooked. Couldn't eat the chicken or the lamb. The others meals were ok but the portions are very small for the price you are paying. Was over charged on the bill as well. Wasn't a £80 dinner
Really good curry house with an excellent menu reasonably priced and friendly staff. Well recommended
We visited Indiya Restaurant in Bedford for dinner and were disappointed with our experience. We read the reviews about the place and were excited to try out the Indian vegetarian food they had to offer. However, when our order arrived, we were disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food. The flavours were not as rich and authentic as we had hoped, and the portions were quite small for the price. The service at the restaurant was also lacking. Our server seemed disinterested in our dining experience and was slow to refill our drinks or check on us. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and when it did, it was lukewarm at best. The dishes lacked flavour and were quite bland. The portion sizes were also small for the price we paid. The restaurant was also quite noisy, which made it difficult to have a conversation. It felt cramped and stuffy and did not have the ambiance that we would expect from a good restaurant. The overall experience was not worth the cost. We would not recommend this Restaurant to others, and we do not plan on returning. There are plenty of other options in Bedford that offer better-quality Indian vegetarian food at a similar or lower price. Additionally, the behaviour of one of the Bangladeshi waiters was particularly rude and unprofessional. He seemed annoyed when we asked for recommendations and rolled his eyes when we requested additional napkins. He was dismissive and impatient when we asked for the check, making us feel unwelcome in the restaurant. His attitude towards us as customers was unacceptable and made for a very unpleasant dining experience. It's unfortunate that such behaviour from one individual can tarnish the entire dining experience. Parking: No Parking at all!
Visited on Thursday 1 July 2021. Had booked a table, but didn't need to. Food was excellent. Shared the Fresh Salmon Cakes and Fushkas for starters. Never seen Fushkas before, but they were very good. I will look out for them on the menu. Had the Moghul Chicken for my main. My wife had the King Prawn Balti. For some unknown reason, we were the only customers in the restaurant, so we were able to have a long chat with the owner, who was forthcoming about the struggles of running a restaurant during the pandemic. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff were friendly and efficient. The decor is nice, with the fish tank making an interesting centrepoint. Will definitely visit again when I am next in Bedford.
Good food and service, some nice curry's on the menu will return but just thought bit naughty putting a 20% service charge on the bill straight away 8 off us surely this is a part of owning a restaurant if I want too tip I will there is plenty of choice around and in this climate come on.Food: 4/5
On the recommendation of old friends, previous customers of Indiya, we had a wonderful evening meal on 23rd december 2022. The food was fantastic with many different to usual, dishes and the service was good old-fashioned customer service where the staff were friendly and polite and couldn't do enough to make a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended thank you.
