I went there with much higher expectations, to see more artwork but only a few were available. But these few ones were almost different from what I'm used to, basically a new experience. The staff were very welcoming.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Another brilliant visit as always, free entry, donation appreciated - went to see the Exodus exhibition and the Printmaking exhibition- absolutely loved both. Exodus was very emotional, very well thought out. Printmaking has been an interest of mine for over 4 years now and so I really enjoyed seeing the Printmaking machine I had used when at university not too long ago.
A small gallery, but very welcoming. I went to see the National Treasures exhibit and it was very thoughtfully staged. There was a group of children from a local Primary school there at the same time and the staff looked after them very well.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Small but very friendly gallery, excellent gift shop with local focus. Current Gentileschi exhibit is superb. Don’t miss using the lift, it’s surprising and fun! No spoilers
Brilliant little gallery for modern art exhibitions. There is always something interesting to see and make you think, even if it is a little strange sometimes. They have exhibitions that change every few weeks, so you can go back and it will be different. The cafe is very good and does hot meals and has outdoor seating. The shop is great and has lots of art books, posters, and cards, as well as info about the exhibition on at the time.
Best gallery I have visited in Birmingham. Astonishing artist with thoughtful artworks. The curation of the exhibition is also brilliant. You could also walk beside the canal when you come visit.
Love the Ikon Gallery. Lovely informed staff. We're lucky to have in Birmingham. Always interesting exhibitions happening. Thank you !Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Came here couple of times, exhibitions vary, mostly inspiring and very contemporary ones. Enjoyed the choir installation in the lift from 2023! Love tje gift shop and the building itself.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Came here to kill time before an event nearby, but ended up losing track of time and having such a great time. We especially enjoyed the exhibition: Start the Press! Where we saw Hassebah Ali working with the most biggest Lino press I’ve ever seen. Apparently the gallery had to disassemble and rebuild the parts for its transportation. How do I know this? With the lovely courtesy of Hasna, one of the staff there who, with her charismatic friendliness and knowledge, enhanced our perception of this exhibition. The overall exhibition was beautifully designed to make interaction with the artist easy and open, and I must applaud all who were part of this project!
Art changes here every couple of months. Former Board School converted to art gallery in the 1990s. Glass lift. Exhibition space on 1st and 2nd floors. Can be used for functions.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
