Interesting exhibitions and nice shop
In its fiftieth year - in different locations across the city - Ikon is a welcome survivor in the cultural landscape of Birmingham. Exhibitions are always interesting, thought-provoking, and enjoyable. The staff, both in the gallery, the cafe, and the shop are always friendly, polite, engaging. Ikon is a real cultural gem and it's great that everything they have to offer is free ... such an asset for the city. If you're visiting Birmingham, visit Ikon.
Ikon is very selective about their book offerings - everything in here is worth buying. I'm sure I'd purchase more if the prices were a little lower, but the products are of good quality and not extremely overpriced.
Once a month i get lost in this building. In this bookshop, not so much. It has too many titles and never what you are looking for. Strangely overpriced and equally well meaning.
Great collection of photography books and stationary. Well worth a visit for an art enthusiast or for some gift buying.
Great quality and frequency of exhibitions. Cute shop, cool lift, and decent cafe. What a good gallery should look like.
Great selection of art books from multiple disciplines and gifts and novelties, good for students, hobbyists, professionals and the average Joe alike.
