Lovely old fashioned, well run pub in a lovely setting. Food is superb and freshly cooked. I think it would be hard to beat to be honest. 5* all the way.
First visit here. We took my Mum for her 92nd birthday. Lamb shanks, veg and roasties all cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back.
This place is a gem. Staff are extremely friendly and kind. We felt like old friends at this place. The food comes out piping hot and absolutely delicious. When they say “be careful the plates are hot” they have taken extra care to ensure your plate stays hot for a long time so you can relax and enjoy your meal so DO NOT TOUCH THE PLATE The exterior is very family friendly and is a great set up for kids of all ages and their parents alike. This visit our second of many was a success for the entire family and not only were all the plates cleared but the kids were exhausted. We can’t wait to book again.
Good food in pleasant surroundings, good beer. Friendly staff too. The main course helpings were very generous, with a good selection of fresh vegetables. Even if we could have managed a dessert I would have thought twice, with hot desserts priced at £8.50, way over the top to me. Otherwise all good.
1st time here and staff were lovely and very helpful and food was amazing and portions were very generous! Roast was superb and piping hot! Desserts were a little pricey for us but couldn’t manage them anyway! I kept getting stuck to the table, it may have needed a better clean before we got it but otherwise we’ll be back again! Paul, Anna and co!
Second year of coming to The Hurdkemakers Arms for a lads Christmas Dinner. We were a group of 5 this year and 7 last. The food was fabulous with ample portions. Great country pub with a nice selection of beers and lagers. We booked for a Friday lunchtime and it was busy with a nice atmosphere. The order to serving time for food and drink was good. Reasonably priced, we would come again
Went here with friends for lunch. Good selection of food. As everything is freshly prepared, there was a small wait for our food to come, but it was well worth it. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The meal size was generous, so we were all pleased we hadn't had starters. Worth a visit
Another dog friendly pub!. Excellent food and service. A large beer garden for the better weather. Looked to be a good selection of ales, but I was unable to sammple myself as I was driving. We will go back there again.
Lunch at the Hurdlemakers Arms today. Had the Sunday roast beef and it was absolutely delicious. Piping hot, great service and huge portions with fresh vegetables. No wonder the car park was full!
Brilliant food and service, very pleasant staff. Outside let's it down, especially walking through the alley from the car park. Licencee Nettie was brilliant in helping my wife out of the side door whilst I drove the car round. Well done all. E and J
