Nothing special. Most of the time the barriers aren’t in use, which is concerning when they market them as a safety feature.nHas a very expensive shop and a little coffee shack or 2. Never been in either of them so can’t comment on prices.nThe staff are usually friendly and helpful.nCurrently undergoing some works but still very accessible potentially more than normally and very well sign posted.
unable to access parking, a ridiculous amount of money was invested in the renovation, they didn’t think to expand the damn car park spaces or at least make it easier to drop off and pick up passengers. there also reduced access to the railway station, the old route is for buses only .
This was a solid station to both depart and arrive at, with appropriately sized platforms for the trains and staff checking tickets at the broken gates! Various departure boards make it easy to track services and similarly the signs help with navigation, as does the underground tunnel. This has ease of accessibility through both stairs and a lift, leading out to the main stations areas where cleanliness had been maintained!
No complaints regarding Huddersfield train station. Trains were on time on a Saturday full of strike action and its well served by taxi services, as well as being right in the town so you can literally step out of the building & go shopping. There are a few spots that could do with a lick of paint & a good scrub up with Mr Sheen etc, but otherwise a good station.
