Great experience. There were a couple of people waiting at the door when I got there who were being asked what services they’d wanted. Each was dealt with quickly & politely and I was served within 30 seconds. I had to deposit a cheque and the colleague was polite the and courteous and did everything for me. Only reason you lost one star is that I have to come all the way into town in what has now become sh!77y Southampton, and wish you had at least a couple of smaller branches in the suburbs.
I live in Southampton and have never seen such poor reviews as I have seen here. It’s no wonder that people are so frustrated with banks these days. The level of customer service and appointment times are discouraging. I have seen the list of branches due for closing this year and Southampton is one of them. Maybe it’s this branch? I’m not surprised.
Multiple bad experiences. Recently tried to open a new bank account, the staff at the branch do nothing other than refer customers to the app or phone banking, while phone banking refers people to the branch. Four weeks and three branch visits later plus hours on the phone and I still do not have my new bank card. Waiting times at the branch are horrendous. And this is as an existing customer I've had a current account with HSBC for over 10 years. I cannot imagine how bad it must be for someone who is new.
every staff is really good except 1 new guy. slowest person ever. really bad customer service . seems like he doesn't want to help or doesn't even want to be there at all in first place. terrible
Took the morning off work and waited for 45 minutes in the waiting area before asking someone if they have an estimated waiting time. They said that they "haven't even started yet" with their current customer who had they had been seeing for 20 minutes and so I walked out. Understaffed and or incompetent. Don't waste your time
Unbelievable slow, machines not working most of the time.
I don’t know how the other ratings for this are so poor. I am an international student so wanted to open a bank account with HSBC. It is quite tough since the documentation for international students not living in university accommodation can be scanty. But I was met with this lovely rep named Marcela who did everything she could to see how I can help me. Her instructions were very clear and I’m happy with the service provided. Highly recommend

Over 3 hours process and a lot of personal information just to get YOUR hard earned money back in cash. I'll keep my money in gold rather than giving them to these legal thieves. It's not their problem what I want to do with my money. I didn't asked the manager how she's likes to take it. Some questions are simply too private.
