A shadow of it's former self with a limited range of goods over two floors. Staff still attentive and helpful but the atmosphere of yesteryear missing. Use to be a go-to store for people of a certain age.
Past its time, but still has some good clothes at reasonable prices. Don't know it this place will last much longer as there is a lot of competition in the city near by, but always has good sales and is centrally located near train and bus station. Has good area for food and a coffee, and also the fashion is not bad, high street fashion but lots to choose from. I be suprised if this place, stayed open much longer, but I'm sure there will be lots of sales leading up to any closure. Worth a visit and you may find some bargains, or just have a coffee and enjoy window shopping
Because it was due to close it was a shambles. Nothing worth buying. I felt so sorry for all the lovely staff who had not found other jobs and some of those had worked there years. The store was once a beautiful store and really looked after. In the past 12 years it's been allowed to deteriorate in a awful way. No thanks to the management!! I have always wanted a lovely place to shop in hull and once upon a time this was the place. Concessions have slowly pulled out because they were not looked after within the store. Hopefully now it is to be saved from closure it will rise to where it belongs and attract top concessions back to hull. It's needs new outlook and new ideas hopefully management will change!
Two lovely ladies served me today in phase eight. I was feeling very stressed out with two pending weddings. Left the store feeling a lot happier than when I went in. I could not have had better service. I wish I new there names. They are a credit too your store. I will definately be back to look for next outfit.
I wanted to try on some Calvin Klien skinny jeans, and there was a guy who was very helpful in helping me find the right size which I did on my second try on. He was so helpful it will make me even more miss this great department store when it goes next year. You wouldn't get such great service with online shopping.
Good allround ...customer service great as usual Update ...cafe zest is good and staff are very polite ...however guy behind counter was abrupt .. it might be early breakfast time but be more polite as your the only one ever with an attitude. He is selective to whom hes polite to .update .... same guy same abrupt rudeness again.
Good quality clothing at reasonable prices. Staff a little too quick to judge wallet by appearance. A construction worker earning over £5000 a month has more disposable income than appearance suggests .......... something to keep in mind house of Fraser staff
Very well presented store in a prime central location in Hull. Unfortunately after many years, this store is closing down. It has a good selection of items from many different brands, however, the prices can be quite premium here. Most of the expensive brands are not participating in the closing down sale prices reduction of 10%. Lots of the better clothing in more common sizes had already been sold on visiting recently, so unless something changes regarding remaining brand participation, reasons to visit during the sale are low and reducing by the day. It'll be a shame to see such an iconic store in Hull close after being there so long.
A sad place to shop, this once iconic store, Hammond's, Binns, and in the end, House of Fraser,is to close in December. For good.in store is full of empty shelves, and bare floors.a very poor end to fine store.
I love House of Fraser, but this one never seems to have quite enough stock. Staff very friendly though. Be a shame to lose one of Hull's best shops to the recession and bad management.
